last night I heard my mom telling my dad, “I have two children, stop being the third”.
He knew why he wanted to kiss her. Because she was beautiful. And before that, because she was kind. And before that, because she was smart and funny. Because she was exactly the right kind of smart and funny. Because he could imagine taking a long trip with her without ever getting bored. Because whenever he saw something new and interesting, or new and ridiculous, he always wondered what she’d have to say about it–how many stars she’d give it and why.

*organizes a meeting w my mind, body, and soul* so what the fuck is going on around here
thoracicbeams:
“Oh, you’re right, I’m sorry. I forgot you’re just going with Jean and Peter. They already know you’re a loser.”
“Well so long as they know where I get it from.”

He nodded. “Okay, okay!” He took his arm and quickly teleported them back to the grounds, in a quiet area no one else would see them. “Zere, back on ze grass, nice and safe.”
He kept a tight hold of Kurt and just tried to breathe. He was shaking hard and had his eyes shut still. “Th-thanks, Kurt.”

She nodded, understanding. She had never really known Alex, but she knew how losing him had effected Scott. “You’re not losing anything else,” she promised softly. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Just then there was a knock on the door and she quickly pulled her hood back up. “That’s probably the food,” she whispered.
He smiled softly and then looked up sharply. He nodded a little and went over to the door, loosening his sword a little, just in case. He opened the door a crack and was relieved to find it was, in fact, the food. He accepted it with a soft thank you and gave the boy a coin for his trouble.
He shut and latched the door when he was gone and set the food on the little table. “Maybe it’s all the hard travel, but damn this smells good.”

She nodded. “I know,” she said. “I’m just grateful you decided to come with me.” She reached out and took his hand, watching him carefully. “That place didn’t have anything left for me. You gave up a lot more than I did.”
He shook his head. “Nah, I gave up a job, that’s it.” He smiled a little sadly. “You’re all I had left really.”
thoracicbeams:
“Yeah, okay, sure, it fits now, but it also looks like it was packed by a nerd instead of a cool guy.”
“Well, getting everything to fit is the point.” He smirked.
Once Upon a December
fearlessfirebird:
Jean was just getting to her feet when Scott grabbed her, and she barely resisted the reflex that told her to just slam him into the wall. Then the desire to do so came back at the suggestion of being thrown out into the snow – something she had never been a big fan of what with her intolerance to cold. But she was also very aware that she could be freezing and live to see tomorrow, or stay nice and warm while she was burning to death in an exploded train. So she went to the edge of the car, squinting into the cold air.
Kurt grabbed Logan’s arm too and went to join Scott. “On ze count of three?” he suggested, not wanting to get too badly separated if they didn’t jump at once and were spread out across the track.
Scott nodded and grabbed Kurt’s hand. “On three!” He shouted over the wind. “One! Two! Three!” He jumped, pulling the group with him. He felt like he’d left his stomach behind as they flew through the air for a split second.
Then they’d landed in the deep snow bank. Logan was up in a moment, digging Jean out of the snow. “Y’alright, kid?” He asked, brushing as much snow off her as he could and rubbing her arms.
magnetiicpersonality:
It managed to wobble him just slightly, but he adjusted his stance quickly and moved back. “Good,” he said. “If you’re trying to get me off balance, you’ll have to follow up a bit faster, however.”
He nodded. “Got it.” He attacked again, trying to be fast, and strong, and have good form. He really wasn’t that bad, but he wanted to be perfect. After a few minutes he got thrown off balance and tripped over his feet, landing flat on his back. He lay for a moment, panting.
thoracicbeams:
“Psssh. It’s fine. Do you have a better idea, smarty-pants?”
“Yeah, I do.” He smirked. He took the clothes out of their weird burrito Alex had put them in and started rolling each individual item, leaving socks and underwear for now.
thoracicbeams:
He rolled up everything in what was close to a really packing strategy, but was definitely only about half right. “There.” He looked at it a second. “…Or something like that. It was some classy lady on pinterest who suggested it, so you know how reliable that is.” Especially when you only pay about 25% attention to it and then replicate the 1/3 of that you still remember.
“Alex. This looks ridiculous. And it won’t fit in my bag.”
thoracicbeams:
“Yeah, and I bet your suitcases are bulky. Give it a minute, it’s a process.” He started rolling the socks in the sweater like a burrito.
“Huh.” He looked skeptical, but allowed him to continue.
