Where is my lieutenant.
His magic just vanished, I can no longer feel it. He is dead and I need his body.
Who on this playing field is strong enough to take him? Take and kill him.
One of the natives. The Egyptians and Greeks have been quiet and I don't see one of ours bringing him down. Bear perhaps?
Where is my lieutenant.
The Coyote is gone?
Rather blatant with your magic...
"Please, Narfi. Why do you come to me now?" he asked, wary of hurt and heartbreak as he looked at one of very few with a hold on his wicked little heart.
"Because.."He answered, adding a long moment of silence "Who else have I got to turn to, father?" Narfi finished, turning his gaze upon Loki. "I have been advised not to, seeing what had happened in the past. But.. Maybe now that my brother is gone, things might be different now."
"There you are, I was beginning to th- What happened to you?"
Felix gruffy mumbled under his breath, drinking deeply from his cup and glancing at the rain outside. “Some people need to ssimply learn to shut up.” He glanced around. “At least business round here hasn’t changed too much even with the last few months..”
"Luckily, no. The usual customers are no more but... They keep on rediscovering the place. I should be glad about that."
Quiet, please.
"No, of course not. Though it is in my best interest, naturally, to know their locations so that I might know if protection is necessary. If they have refuge in the sea, then I would be happy. The matter at hand is that I know not if their bearings could be considered safe or not, and so I worry instead."
Ægir paused, listening to Narfi’s words. He let the silence linger as he searched thoughtfully for his words. Finally, he spoke. ”The basis of my immediate family is of the support we hold for one another. There are no disagreements without resolutions and above all, we are loyal. It pains me to say it, but the same cannot be said for your father. Loki is a powerful God, and one that I would fear to cross, but he is unwise and makes many enemies. Narfi, you are not your father. If you wish to be like him, I won’t stop you, but you are better. It would be an honor to fight alongside you. Have you spoken with your uncle of late?”
Narfi wasnt sure either to hit the God or to agree with him when he spoke of his father. Despite all the times his father had let him down in the past and Narfi was murdered for his crimes, he loved him. Narfi had never been close to his mother. Instead he saw more of Thor and Sif than of his actual parents. But he knew that his father tried, but was he willing to drown in his own blood again for something his father would do wrong this time?
"How am I better, exactly?" He asked, his voice somewhat bitter but he turned his head away at the mention of Thor. "I suppose, you are on Thor's side then?" he said seconds later, sighing deeply and closing his eyes. "Why would Thor allow a son of Loki to fight at his side? On what grounds would he even trust me not to betray him? What if, that if I don't side with my father this time, he might never forgive me?"
"You don’t find me intimidating?"
"Yes I do. But in a good way."
Rather blatant with your magic...
"Truly your parentage does you ill. Do you hate me, my son?" Loki asked, turning his back on Narfi and stepping away, bracing for the inevitable. He’d finally placed the familiar taste of that magic as they talked. He felt his throat clog with regret and shame. "Your brother is dead."
Narfi decided to leave his question unanswered, instead looking around to take in the area they were in. He had barely noted his father had turned away from him until he spoke again, turning his head to face him. The subject was one that was still sensitive to Narfi, for he loved his brother dearly.
"I know. I felt it."
Quiet, please.
Ægir swallowed his sadness and shook his head. “I do not know where my daughters are, no. I hope to find them soon. Before the war begins.”
"Fragile as glass. Drop him and he’ll shatter. Could be interesting, though. I won’t tell you what to do." Ægir watched Narfi’s actions carefully. "With all due respect, Narfi, if you care so much for staying alive, I don’t understand why you chose to stay with your father. He has a large army, it’s true, but you and I both know how many times he’s wronged you. Tread lightly, old friend, that’s all I ask from you. Please be careful."
"Or not. Would you wish your daughters in this madness? We aren't exactly the strongest out there, maybe it is for the best. They might still be at Asgard, or in the sea."
Narfi watched him, listening to his every word and they made him doubt. How did he know he would choose to side with his father again? It was true that all the times Loki ended up getting him hurt or killed that it eventually make him doubt, but would he side against his father? Could he do that?
"So what are you suggesting? That I should pick another team? Who would have the son of Loki with them?"
"You’re not scared of me, are you?"
"No. I'm not."
Rather blatant with your magic...
And what is it that makes you so bold, child?
Must be my genes. I have a father just like it.
I- It’s good to see you. I thought… Well, it doesn’t matter. I’m just glad you’re here.
You thought that with our brother's death, I would have been dead as well? Fortunately for me, I made myself known after his death. But I am glad to see you are still well, Fenrir. Tell me all you have done and experienced, I wish to know it all."
"I do kill people."
"Yeah.. But a lot do, so it seems."
Quiet, please.
"Yes, he is a rather fascinating human, isn’t he?" Ægir spoke with a proud tone. He was really quite fond of Andrei. "He knows that I’m here. He knows what I can do to him if he steps out of line, and best of all, he knows that he can’t fight back. I’d like to thank his employer for training such a good soldier." He paused, "It’s Ægir, Narfi. You remember me, don’t you? My wife is well, thank you."
"Not everything. Let your memories spill into his mind, leaving the private ones to yourself. Andrei is such an obedient dog, and with experiences of doing such horrible things for his master. Some even appall me. I was lucky with Andrei. His mind was already devoid of memories. Introductions could be forward with minimal damage. He had a severe panic attack and tried to kill himself, but nothing I couldn’t deal with. Acknowledged that your past was severely more traumatic than mine, and the fact that Ruairi is more fragile, being gentle could show him that you care. That’s assuming you do."
"Yes, I remember you. I spend a lot of time with your children back at Asgard. They are not here, are they?"
"Yes, the bloody badger is fragile, isn’t he?" Narfi scoffed, looking at his nails that all of a sudden seemed to be very interesting. "I care more for staying alive this time. Seeing how my brother is already dead, one can only imagine that cruel joke the Gods have left for me this time."
I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.
