This morning was so hot in the lab; I thought there was a slow drip from the ceiling since it’s also been rainy but no, just sweat . . . (ᵕ•_•)
Next week is going to be fairly busy [for summer standards] because our school is holding a science camp for high scholars to learn and interact with STEM; this means we have our typical labs to set up and so on, along with the experiment set ups for the camp. I’m very excited!
Today we set up an entropy lab for gen chem II, and a copper synthesis lab for the survey chem I. The survey chemistry lab is for non-STEM majors; they always surprise me with something unexpected to work with . . .hahaha.
We finished off the safety checks and such for another building, so we have one more to check tomorrow.
Queer people have taught me more about HIV/AIDS than years of school has and I love y’all for that

two more weeks until graduation - it's a good afternoon to slow down and escape the growing chaos of finals season.
Found my old UPSC exam notes and realized that i actually did study quite a lot despite my hidden but utter hatred for the whole competitive exam scene in India. I'm happy that i didn't waste more than 1 year and 1 attempt on this charade.
Studying english literature makes me happy and I'm genuinely very good at it, so it's a win-win situation now (also Eng Lit professors in elite Indian colleges make great money lol).

Eid mubarak! Spent the day binge reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I have a lot of thoughts about it which I may write down at some point. Had cereal for breakfast after so long. Didn’t study at all today but I might just work on my histo diagrams and study some osteology
update: i lost my grant and quit my research project bc my sponsor was an asshole. also lost my student loan bc banks are money grabbing leeches. the good thing is that my supervisor is pissed on my behalf and has greenlit three new projects for me to work on
had a thalassemia conference today and named to siam to one of the professors i really admire! networking babeyyyy

4/15/2026: I presented my research on surfactants! It was pretty chill honestly, and I got positive feedback on my presentation. I got ice cream after hehehe !! Next step is taking my finals + graduating! !
i am a hellenic pagan and i am having feelings about orpheus and eurydice and hades. i’m going to make that your problem
orpheus turns around bc it’s an act of love. hades is a god, the god of death. he obv knows more than mortals. he knows how they feel. he represents the domain of death. hades set the condition the way he did bc perhaps to love is to look back. to grief is also to look back, for grief is also a product of love.
ofc a person can’t be brought back from the dead. esp not by a mortal. they ought to stay dead. it doesn’t matter how beloved they are, death does come for them and the only thing you can do is look back to when they were there, but you cannot bring them back
hades is death and death cannot be undone so ofc orpheus has to turn around, ofc he has to lose her, ofc he has to make sure with glimpses of her. ofc he has to long and pine for her. ofc he has to think of her and do everything in his power to bring her back. that’s his grief. ofc he has to turn around. that’s love. ofc he has to look, to feel what he is so so so close to having. ofc he has to lose it. that’s what death does
i make the same argument i always do. the gods represent their domains. ofc death cannot allow a person to be brought back to life. rather allow is the wrong word. it is simply not possible to revive someone who is well and truly dead, no matter how much it hurts
hades is kind in allowing orpheus that glimpse but he cannot alas let eurydice go out into the light bc the dead cannot be revived
i wonder if orpheus realized that after he emerged from hades. that for all his grief, what is done cannot be changed. that his greatest act of love is to grieve her, to look back at what he cannot have and part ways with it
i am a hellenic pagan and i am having feelings about orpheus and eurydice and hades. i’m going to make that your problem
every time i have to pull and all nighter and o feel sleepy and alone, i like to look out of the window. it’s nice to see all the trucks driving by and know i’m not the only one awake and working at this hour
