Peanut butter and jelly. Mac and cheese. Jimmy and Kyle! Some friendships are just meant to be. When both of these creatures were rejected by their own species and society at large, they found each other. Kyle the black vulture (aka zopilote or Mexican vulture) has faced his fair share of hardship and cruelty, yet his joyful spirit still soars and   inspires those who know him, and has been essential in keeping Jimmy afloat (yeah, Jimmy looks pretty rough when we first meet him! Kyle is ever present in his local music scene and loves to meet everyone, a trait that will allow him to connect Jimmy with Emma’s band, Scream At The Moon, a move that will save the scruffy coyote’s life in more ways than one.

Calling all emerging artists!

I’m excited to share a project I’m honored to be part of, and I’d love for you to take part with me.

I’m donating a one hour portfolio review session to a fundraising auction for any aspiring illustrator or visual development artist you may know who could use supportive guidance while putting their portfolio together. The session can take place in person in Paris (or Los Angeles this summer), or online via Zoom.

🕛 The auction opens on January 29 at 12:00 a.m. EST and closes January 30 at 11:45 p.m. EST.

This fundraiser is being organized by Lian Cho and Mabel Hsu, along with others, through their grassroots project Publishing for Minnesota.

All proceeds from the auction will support organizations providing legal aid, emergency assistance, food, and community resources to and immigrants and others in urgent need due to ICE’s activities.

Since we are having fun with all of this Robot And Monster BTS content here's another favorite memory - The R&M crew (The Best Crew Ever) decorated my office for my Birthday, It was truly touching and amazing. I noticed my" "Dave's design list" white board, I always had a production assistant update the list of character concepts I had to draw for upcoming episodes, I needed that extra organizational help. The characters - Mickey The Ax, Maintenance Worker, Tween, I think the last one is Rich Mechanical. I found the concept art. When we were wrapping Rugrats production last February I found my old office -A40 and did some before and after pics. Also the close up of my desk is like a game of I Spy there's some much little R&M memorabilia, can you tell that I used to eat a lot of Altoids? And you can see the Domo cup on the back shelf.
