They heard Shaun's cry from the room. His parents quickly rushed in, nearly bumping into them. Their and Not-yet-Verikoira's surprised gazes crossed for a split second.
"No need to cry, kultaa, daddy and mommy are here." - they heard the familiar soothing voice.
The father leaned over, lovingly looking inside the crib with a tiny restless roll inside.
Wanting to calm him down, he dragged his arm towards the mobile over the crib, when suddenly, he was interrupted midair by Korppikalliota's deadly tight grasp, having blitzed from behind.
"Huh--" - Not-yet-Verikoira gasped in surprise mixed with disbelief. - "What the--"
"Stay the fuck away from that thing or I'll slice your fucking throat open." - Korppikalliota growled, feverishly clinging onto his arm, like his life depended on it, making him freeze with stretched fingers in complete shock, unable to comprehend the situation.
