when i saw this i couldn’t believe it didn’t have music
((my aesthetic: amanda getting mad at someone and snatching them up by the collar of their shirt.))
Amanda Terral’s main verse is basically a modern day Avatar. It’s the normal earth that we all live on, but bending is normal for folks. Of course, this can change if the setting doesn’t exactly work. But yes, Amanda is a 17 year old girl who spend most of her life being trained as a waterbender by her mother, Lexus. And her mom was quite the dedicated trainer, not really letting Amanda live her own life, seeing her life as a bender was quickly swallowing up any life she wanted to have. The long and stressful goes at practicing did pay off, because at a somewhat young age, Amanda has become exceedingly well at waterbending. The cons of all of this happened to be her social life basically dropping off the face of the earth. Never really had any friends, and her father, Scott, was the only reason she had any time to breathe.
Now Amanda is trying to catch up on the lost childhood memories she didn’t have the chance to experience by herself, roaming and going off with intent of maybe getting into some trouble, but meeting and having fun with others is the main idea she has inside her head.
That feeling when you can never drink water the same because just bending it into your mouth is a habit that can’t and will not be broken until the ends of time.

Tap, tap. “La-lah?” Louie turned to face the blue Pikmin poking his shoulder. Following the Pikmin’s gaze, Louie slowly looked upwards–please don’t be another school of Puckering Blinnows, please– Oh. Okay, so it wasn’t a vicious predator that decided to pay Louie a little visit, but a human instead. Granted, seeing a human directly above him still made him jump–though he immediately tried to play it off as if he hadn’t–but at least he (hopefully) wasn’t going to be attacked. Louie hadn’t heard her approach, or heard anything she might have asked him; he was so preoccupied looking for that cursed HocPad that a Quaggled Mireclops or two could stomp its way down here and still catch him off-guard. …wait. Maybe this human had seen it?
“Hey, uh… you haven’t seen a tablet lying around, have you?” Though it wasn’t likely many other Hocotatians had been clumsy enough to lose theirs at the bottom of a lake, Louie went on describing it, anyway. “Blue. Missing a few buttons. Fang marks in the corner. Screen’s cracked. Waterproof, probably.” Hopefully. He hadn’t actually read the manual. “…doesn’t sound familiar, does it?”
No wonder this fellow didn’t float. He had bricks for brains weighing him down.
When none of her questions received answers, brown eyes rolled and feet met the lake’s bottom, right in front of helmet-head. Hearing his question, much unlike he did with her, the word “Tablet?” was repeated. If this guy had dropped his little toy in a lake, and at the middle nonetheless, Amanda hoped the thing was waterproof. She had certainly missed it during her swim, but she could check.
The bubble around her head grew ever so slightly as air puffed out the nose, and arms started to reach out at her front. It was soon that they’d begin to pull forward and backward, outward and inwards with the entire water current of the area around them following the motions. Amanda even shifted some herself during the check for anything large in the lake. Oh, there were things everywhere, but on the left hand, the feeling of something foreign and...sort of oval-shaped? Was that it? A finger was lifted for helmet-head to hold on, and Amanda blasted off through the water, leaving bubbles in her wake. Returning soon after, a quite beaten up and...well, just poorly taken care of tablet was in her hands.
“Is this the thing you were looking for?” She asked, both hands now holding it in front of her, though she didn’t exactly give it over just yet. Certainly more inspecting it for herself than delivering. “Cracked screen, buttons missing, and it’s blue. You’d better hope this thing is waterproof like you said, pal.” A toss to the other hand, and finally it was presented to the blue guy.

Her flinch is visible, and she has to bite back a yelp. Part of it was fear, sure, fear of a people she’d only heard tales of from Mother. Though, the other did seem to be concerned- No, she couldn’t think like that. What would her mother think? What would she say? That was easy to answer, Mother would tell her to ‘act normal, Little Ava, be normal. Don’t let them see what you are.’ That was easier said than done.
Hands unfurl, if only slightly, and she shakes her head. “’M f-fine. Just feel…” She pauses, floundering for words for a moment. “Feel sick.” It’s forced through clenched teeth, trembling hands moving to quickly rub the side of her face. There was the feeling again, and she was too closed in-
“Excuse me!”
Feigning illness, she shoves past the other, hands clamped tightly over her mouth. Be normal.
A few alleys away, she stops, hands falling to her side. It was close, too close for her own comfort. Ava glances back, just to see if anyone had given her dirty looks. She had noticed those, those disgusted faces. Why they were glaring at her was a mystery to her, but…
With the sudden flinch, shock took over and leaped Amanda back by a couple inches, eyes widening at the little girl. It looked as though they had flinched from the fear of being hit, and that didn’t sit well with her whatsoever. Facial features grimaced. Her saying that she was fine didn’t convince Amanda at all, and...goodness, her hand was shaking like a poor soul naked in the South Pole! Why in the world were they so frightened? Sick or not, the waterbender took a single step forward, mouth only beginning to open before she rushed right past her, body shifting to the side so not to get in the way...
And off they went... Mother had always said that there were some strange folk outside of the tribe, and that’s why you had to be ready to defend yourself if the funny folk tried funny business. Amanda shook that voice out, trailing the path of the child, but not before hands reached inside of her hefty bag latched to her back. Out had been pulled a fairly sized bottle of clear and clean water, the container soon being strapped to her side. Never in her life would Amanda fight a child, but with the other acting so squirrelly, a little protection never hurt. The lid was done loosely so accessibility to bending it out would be easy, and feet started to follow, hoping to find and help the clearly shaken girl. Did the bender...do something to startle them? Offering money didn’t seem frightening, but who knew.
“E-Excuse me...you had been at the flower stand, correct?” Amanda called out, though she certainly kept her distance this time. She’d be lying if brown eyes didn’t light up a bit once the sight of the same girl from the plant shop had finally been found. With all of the people bustling about the city paired with the lost girl’s tiny stature, finding her once again had been a bit of a hassle. It took a while, and even a good chunk of asking around, but Amanda just couldn’t leave such a terrified girl to her own accord in a city like this. If the look of sheer concern flooding her face meant anything, the pure want to help and figure out what was wrong had been all there.
“Please, just tell me what’s wrong, what’s actually wrong, and I’ll get out of here. Again, it’s Amanda, and I mean you no harm.” Hands splayed themselves out to the girl, signaling the motion of stop to them.
“Please don’t go running off again. I really wanna help. There’s no reason to be scared, that I can promise.”

First times for everything were abound, what with the city being as large as it was. Despite growing up in the most supposedly peaceful time, Ava had rarely left Capital City, and that made her trip to Ba Sing Se even more terrifying than it already was. Her first time without the guidance ( and violent protection ) of her mother, and the teen was already having trouble remembering exactly what she had been told.
The dirty looks she was getting didn’t help either, and despite her gaze being turned down, she was already starting to feel the tips of her fingers doing their tell-tale ‘you’re going to burn things down’ tingle. She managed to at least keep it to small bursts of flame being exhaled, but it didn’t stop her hands from shaking. The first market stall she visited, one full of wonderful plants, at least made her feel a bit better. Her mind wandered back to the garden, and she worked up the courage to speak to the owner.
It was out of the corner of her eye that she first spotted the other, and immediately she tenses, setting the potted plant down and shuffling to the side quite a bit. Her gaze is turned down once more, and hands curl into fists at her side, and she tries to keep from panicking any further.
It was just another person, it’s not a bender -
So far, Amanda’s little adventure through Ba Sing Se had been going just wonderfully, the pack on her back filled with all sorts of nifty items found throughout the shops of the Earth Kingdom city. Along with a few water bottles, the sound of things shuffling around her bookbag could be heard above other folk’s voices, but eyes caught onto the sight of something else that would look wonderful in the bender’s collection. A flower stand sporting absolutely stunning potted plants...Amanda had to get one! It wasn’t long before she was at the shop, hands perusing the beautiful wares.
It also wasn’t long before brown eyes spotted a little girl not that far down from her. Amanda had hardly noticed the other during her approach, but with the sudden movement of her’s, gaze caught on, a side glance tossed over to the girl. She was probably just moving over to get a look at the other plants, so the curious copper-colored stare shifted back to her own affairs for a bit...though they suddenly returned once realizing that their head had been totally down to the ground. Now, a head couldn’t help but turn its neck to the little one’s direction, only to spot clenched hands, too. Were they...okay? Amanda could almost sense the tenseness they were giving off. Eyebrows raise, and all attention seems to leave the plants. A few sidles over and gaze was on the girl.
“Hey, are you, uh, doing alright?” A softer than normal tone slipped out from the teen’s throat, and a slight smile opened up, trying to show that the girl had no reason to avoid the question. “Are you...short on money, maybe? I’ve got some water tribe money, but more and more places end up refusing to take it, so I’ve got plenty of Earth Kingdom currency, too. It’s no skin off my nose if you need some, okay? Promise. And the name’s Amanda, mmh-hm?”

Even though her mom had pushed her to brink and brim with practicing her waterbending, simply going out a little far and practicing on her own did prove to be some fun. A little pond was all Amanda needed, and soon enough, flowing water began to move perfectly along with flowing movements. Every now and again they’d speed up, a fist punching out or a hand outstretching, sending the stream out in a current quick enough to blindside an eye doctor. After the practice attack, it’d go right back to Amanda, and she’d begin again. Her movements stopped at the sight of a blue fellow staring at her, though...thin lids opening up fully to get a look at him. It looked like a hedgehog, but with it walking around on two legs with fancy shoes to boot, they looked ready to say a thousand words and prepare to say another.
“How goes it...who might you be?” Few words, and the water was still at her side, now resuming the practice. “With a guy so blue, I could see you being a waterbender yourself. Serenity's nice, but it’s getting a little boring out here. You doing anything right now? I could use the company.”
@thewayfaringhero
Eyes couldn’t help but stare at the little blue spaceman and his matching leaf and flower friends walking around at the bottom of a lake. Here Amanda was, going for a fair swim in the local lake for kicks and giggles, but when she went for a deep dive, the sight of something certainly not aquatic moving at the bottom caught her attention, and after shifting the water around her, causing her to rip right through the water like a missile, checking out who this person was sounded like a plan. Stopping right above the helmet-head, a bubble around the bender’s head kept her plenty of air as she spoke.
“So, are you one of those scuba diving guys? Y’know, with the big ol’ brass helmets that make neat knick knacks t’ stick on your desk? Are...are you even listening to me? Oh, whatever. What’s your name, huh? And you got a reason for being all the way down here with your little blue friends?”

I do not own anything from Atla, neither am I the editor of the gifs.
“Y’know, I gotta ask...How in the world do you stay so humble about your strength? Haven’t you ever walked into some sort of bar and asked to arm-wrestle the strongest guy there before totally trashing them into the ground? I mean, I’ve definitely pulled out a thing of water and splashed a guy just for the fun of it...haven’t you done something like that?”
@saiunn
If there was something Amanda liked more than anything else, a forest right after a good rain had the top spot locked in place and didn’t show any signs of moving soon. With all of the puddles and runoff rain in the ground and trees, there was more than enough water to do whatever she felt like! Using the water to slip and slide off of the slicked grass and move through the woods like a stream doing whatever it needed to get through a crack. Wonderful! Amanda’s quick strides continued, a handful of kickoffs from the likes of trees and such, but shoes had begun to tear up grass and splatter mud as they skidded to a stop, eyes widening at the sight of something ripping through the forest so much faster than her. It wasn’t long before the bender pushed herself off with a current of runoff, speed right back to 100% in the other direction.
A sharp whistle from the mouth sounded out, trying to get the attention of the quick blue figure. Amanda couldn’t begin to catch up, but barely keeping up sounded doable. Some jettisons forward by pulling water off of a couple leafs, and a holler rumbled from the bender’s throat, wanting the blue guy to stop. Someone who tore through the forest like that had to be some fun, right?
@livxnsericius
So heading further down then she ever had in the water certainly proved interesting, but never did Amanda think that she would find some sort of mermaid? The plus of being a waterbender was that you could traverse any sort of ocean, lake, or pond ten times better than one would walk across a sidewalk. That’s why it proved quite fun to follow a figure she saw in the depths of the water. With a bubble over the girl’s face to keep air as she continued, a call for the attention of the other hollered through the water, hoping that they would even hear the call in the first place.
“Hey! Think you could stop? This is the first time I’ve ever found anything like you down here! Heh, and seeing a human this far down without a big ol’ clunky suit and ship is weird too, yeah?” A wave moved throughout the water, and a friendly smile went across her face.
