I love you babe, hope your Spring is going well.
Can we collectively retire this version of Rukmini as the timid, passive, saintly housewife who spent her days quietly folding laundry while everyone else had all the fun with Krishna!
The woman literally chose her own husband, wrote Krishna a love letter asking him to abduct her defying her entire clan to become his chief wife and then had eleven children.
Eleven- 1 less than a dozen
We all know how babies are made. This math of 11 requires a staggering amount of regular, highly enthusiastic bedroom activity.
There seems to be this unspoken assumption in a lots medieval poetry works and cinematic adaptation like Rukmini was the first wife so she is older, deeply saint like devotee therefore they conclude less exciting especially in the bedroom.
Well, this not even scripturally accurate to even begin with.
Rukmini was married at very young age definitely younger than at least Krishna's first three subsequent wives. Now the whole "old, faded first wife" trope becomes pure invention
But even if she had been older, since when did maturity mean a lack of passion? A seasoned woman brings her own irresistible fire.
And considering that many traditions place Radha a little older than Krishna... cough, cough.
The man clearly appreciated a woman with experience. Doesn't he?
And the Sr imad Bhagavatam itself tell us that Rukmini dreaded the auspicious Brahmamuhurta . She literally disliked sunrise because it stole him from her embrace. The scripture doesn't need to narrate every detail as it trusts the audience to connect the dots.
So no, I don't buy the "safe, boring, domestic wife" narrative for a second. Even if Rukmini had been older,Iam convinced that he will still choose her every time. Youth is lovely, but confidence that's a different entirely.
@madatdisney
OBVIOUSLY! SHE'S A GIRLBOSS WITH A MALEWIFE FOR A HUSBAND.
She's no way "submissive", remember that she also killed an asura. but we only remember bhama's achievement because its celebrated.
Don't forget that she gave so many women the courage to fight for love. Mitravinda, Bhadra, Lakshmanaa, Subhadra... all these women got the courage to go against their families for the men they love.
She might've been younger than bhama, but she wouldn't be TOO young to make it like child marriage. I headcannon that she was in her early 20's and Krishna in his late 20's.
She's MAHARANI DWARAKADISH, the CHEIF QUEEN OF DWARAKA, for a reason. She had enough political power to run a kingdom, and I'm sure she ran the economy when Krishna went to fight in Kurukshetra.
So there's NO WAY in hell that she was a submissive, meek lady. If people justify the fainting incident, go to my earlier post: https://www.tumblr.com/madatdisney/821080807253868544?source=share
A narrative that deserves most address! Time to give Ruku her dues she deserved as the maharani of Dwaraka, mother of Cupid and the soul of Krishna. ✨✨✨
FIRST POST DARLINGS ✨✨
A pleasant evening at the Dwaraka Beach
Satyabhama suddenly lifts Rukmini up effortlessly, hands gripping her thighs.
Rukmini (legs kicking, surprised): Bhaamaaa—! Put me down right now!
Satyabhama (grinning, face buried between her huge tits): Nah. Best view in the palace. These royal melons make perfect pillows.
Rukmini (blushing hard): I’m the queen, not a carry bag!
Satyabhama: You’re my favorite squishy carry-on. Can I bounce you while I hold you?
Rukmini (smirking, wrapping her legs around her): Only if you promise to bounce me hard.
Guyyysss let me know how these are and ur honest feedback matters a lot ✨✨
Special thanks to my gurl @madatdisney for the motivation 😘

Hindu art symbolism and vivaha samskaras
Painting of Rukmini vivaha. Look at the Purohita, he is directing Krishna and Rukmini to look at Rishi Vashishta & Arundhati constellation* in the sky. Krishna and Rukmini are looking at their own reflections above, showing that they are Lakshmi and Vishnu. Agni, understanding that it is Lakshmi Narayana in front of Him, He encircles Krishna and Rukmini instead.
In Hindu marriage rituals, Rishi Vashishta and Arundhati symbolise an ideal married couple. The groom shows the bride the twin stars of Vashishta and Arundhati, in a ceremony called 'Arundhati darshanam'. In some parts of India, Vashishta-Arundhati is replaced by the Dhruva constellation, however Vashishta-Arundhati are invoked around the vivaha homa.
*In western astronomy today, these two stars are known as Mizar and Alcor, from the Arabic words horse and rider, as the Europeans adopted these terms from Arabic astronomy.
This is sooooo cuteeee ✨✨✨ @madatdisney look at this !! Wish we have more such descriptions of the most romantic wedding ever 🥰🥰
*Satyabhama is walking to the royal kitchen at midnight for water and hears weird moaning noises coming from Rukmini's chambers*
Bhama: Didi? I heard some...weird sound from here
Rukmini: yeah I'm fine. Just period crAAAmps... *moans in pain*
Bhama: do I need to call krishna?
Rukmini: *defensive* no need. I can manage
Bhama: okay. Take care didi... *leaves*
Krishna: *pops out of the blanket* Is she gone?
*ends up with a nice hit on the head for being obvious*
