I just finished reading this story and I absolutely loved the emotions, the magical atmosphere, and the way Rukmini and Krishna’s bond was written. The reunion scene was so beautiful because Rukmini didn’t fall in love with a title or status, she fell in love with the person who made her feel truly seen.
Krishna’s loneliness and the way he thought he wasn’t worthy of someone like her made the ending even more meaningful. Seeing him realize that someone had been searching for him all along was such a heartwarming moment.
This story gave me a strong visual feeling of moonlight, old palaces, music, and two souls finding their way back to each other. I would love to create an illustration inspired by this beautiful atmosphere.

Why does no one really understand that Krishna's relationships are different with the ashtasakhis and ashtabharyas?
The Ashtasakhis are his friends. Sakhis. They were all Radha's friends who later became Krishna's too. They didn't have any romantic moments, and they all had a brother-sister relationship.
The Ashtabharyas, on the other hand, are his WIVES. There is romance in this: his primary 8 wives, apart from the 16,100 junior queens. They're all husband and co-wives.
I've seen people confuse this and I had to speak up here. there's a difference between a sakhi and a bharya and some people refuse to acknowledge that Krishna loved others who weren't Radha...

These hc's are beautiful and I love to see appreciation for the older women in the puranas. Everyone focuses more on the younger ones like draupadi and subhadra and there's not much seen about women like kunti and devaki.
I first made that post to highlight devaki as a mom, since everyone focuses so much on yashoda and forgets that devaki was also his mom and the one he was with after he turned 11, until his death. But these hc's give her more depth as a person and how she would've been back then.

I always believed that they have met before recorded meeting in scriptures. Two people can't suddenly become close friends on a random day. Also nobody can write letter for elopement just by hearing. They could have met and had those cute things. I don't have proper words to put. May be dating. It is my thought.

I have this hc where they met first in sandipani's ashram for gurukul. And I hc that they started as "enemies" (As in regularly teasing each other) to lovers. Like they're pining for each other and even shared moments under the moonlight until they finished and had to separate. Then later when ruki is to be married, she writes to her darling kanha and he saves her, and the rest is history.

Pradyumna headcanons- Part 1
(Disclaimer: Krishna is a good father and a good husband at the end of the day, so if that’s not your cup of tea…)
Heads up- My fics and hcs only consider 5 children of Krishna’s : In order of age, Pradyumna (Rukmini), Bhanuday AKA Bhanu (Satyabhama), Charudeshna AKA Madhu (Rukmini), Samba (Jambavati) and Charumati (Rukmini).
Pradyumna returns when he’s 13 or so- I want his parents to be able to raise him to some extent, like Vasudev and Devaki got Krishna from age 12.
Off with the Krishna carbon copies! My boy looks like his diva of a mother, our Queen Rukmini.
Is the hyper-aware type. Grew up in Shambara’s palace scavenging and fighting for survival, and the habit of never sleeping or sitting with his back to a door - especially when he’s got someone to protect- doesn’t quite ever leave him.
Is NOT a talker and to his parents’ relief this silence and mild demeanour gets mistaken for diplomacy at public events often enough that no one realises he’s staking out the room for fun.
He’s not charming or openly funny like Krishna, and his general personality leans towards Rukmini’s more serious, thoughtful one- but he’s got a WILD dry sense of humour that he unleashes in the form of one-liners or a few words and INSANE timing.
Is deep down a massive softie and a simp for Maya and believes in the power of Love™ like it’s a secret he keeps tucked away when he’s a kid, hearing stories of the love between the people he doesn’t know are his parents- as a child in a place absolutely starved of it.
GIVE ME MORE KRISHNA AND PRADYUMNA MOMENTS. I WANT.

Let me bring you to reality.
I dont know what you would call a "met before" situation.
Both of them were born with memories of their Divine nature. They are Mahalakshmi and Vishnu.
So i dont see the need to fall in love when they met before and stuff. They always knew each other in the previous births. There are lines in Srimad Bhagavatam, that mention Krishna was unable to sleep thinking of Rukmini.
And that love stems from yugas of being together. Not falling in love at first sight like that.
Similar to the excitement of waiting to meet your spouse at the office or work or smth.
Its like marrying your bestie, skipping the dating stage, straight to the honeymoon stage.
To be realistic, arranged marriages and political marriages were super common in those eras, so you could fall in love with your husband after you get married.
And Krishna being Krishna as approachable as He is, as loving and caring He is, had 11 kids with each wife.
100% he asked for their consent. Ik he is that.
@mimaridoesmurari That's why I mentioned "headcannon". There's no confirmation whether it's true or not, but I'd like to imagine the story that way. Makes it cuter to think about. And yes, we stan a consent king who drinks his respect women's juice on a daily 😤
