i've been seeing too many videos like that on my fyp and it just makes me sad people are this dumb, honestly. it is stated, more than once, how colin's entire personality (and appearance) has changed ever since he came back. GUYS, it was even published on whistledown 😭 (paraphrasing) “is this colin's new personality or is it a ploy for attention, and does he even know himself?” like😟?????? and if that's not enough, you have the bridgerton's teasing him/commenting about it on more than one occasion. his MOTHER literally tells him she understands why he puts on “an armor,” that he should “take it off before it rusts and he can never step out of it again.” he's out with those guys and they're all talking about their sexual adventures abroad and he's like (again, paraphrasing) “doesn't it suck that society expects us not to care about the one thing in life that actually has meaning?” (ie love) and they all laugh in his face.
IN THE CARRIAGE SCENE, he literally says “i have spent so long trying to feel less, trying to be the kind of man society expects me to be.” HELLO? remember in s1 where they literally teased him for not being a rake? you guys need to stop treating his character arc like it's been developed for only one season. that's the point of s3, we know these characters, and we've seen them grow all throughout the show.
AND: a person on tiktok pointed out something amazing. in the beginning of s3, when colin puts on this suave, playboy rake persona, his voice is different. i'm sure we all noticed 😭 but during the carriage scene, his voice is so soft? UGHHHHH I CANT DEALLLLL
also? i saw a tiktok where someone said, and i quote, “no shade but why was colin's declaration to penelope basically him saying ‘i ain't like you cuz ppl thought you was ugly but now I don't care what ppl think!’ and she went along w it.” LIKE WHAT? HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DEDUCE THAT? WHERE? GIRL?????????? I WAS SHOCKED HONEY IN TEARS ALMOST...
i never in my life imagined i'd be defending colin like that but like... some of you are either dense or just have a severe case of i-dont-pay-attention disorder. it's crazy
