pretty sure I haven't said this yet but I have a JoJo's furry au that I think is pretty cool and today I would like to talk about my selection for the vento aureo cast's species
Giorno: His mother is a serval and Jonathan's a lion, but looking purely at his face he looks like a slightly exotic deer because the 9-ish % dio still had to be present in some way. he has fully retractable claws, his base fur is generally very serval-looking but he has a tufted tail, a fluffier neck and permanent lion cub markings (very opaque compared to the ones actual lion cubs have) (his skull looks like if you edited a deer skull to have carnivoran teeth)
Bucciarati: fisher. Look them up if you don't know what they are they're some real cool mustelids, I promise my choice of species makes sense and is very thought out
Abbacchio: white bellied sea eagle I didn't think too much abt this one
Narancia: yellow throated marten/kharza, their colors match his official ones really well and they're also not only the biggest species of marten but also the only marten thats not all that solitary
Fugo: erythristic (ginger) badger! The stripes are red and look real awesome with his red and white color scheme, i think i cooked with this one
Mista: he's a tiger ahahah. did you know his pants are supposed to be zebra print (skin?) and not tiger print (idk if it's skin my memory's fucking with me)
Trish: Amur leopard, there's only like 150 left in the wild and that sucks because they're also really cool
Sorbet and Gelato: I forgot which ones which but the one with the black hair is probably a corvid or something like that idk abt the blond one
Formaggio: purely based on aesthetics he's a honey badger. It's the buzz cut that I think I could make work character design wise and grisons are too small for him imo
Illuso: Asian palm civet :)
Prosciutto: originally I thought him to be a king cobra because they're real cool and dangerous snakes but I'm considering making him a kind of spitting cobra because it would be funny if he spat neurotoxins into the eyes of people who pissed him off but not in public because that is illegal
Pesci: I'm actually doing a bit of research on red tail boas because I'm considering getting a central american boa as a pet in the near future but anyways pescis a true red (green?) tail boa constrictor
Melone: fossa/fusa! asides from starring in animated movie Madagascar theyre freaky asf go check out casual geographics vid on them
Ghiaccio: tasmanian devil :) Why? idk they're sick as hell and I can imagine Ghiaccio as a furry with a devil face very vividly which is a sign that I've chosen the right species
Tiziano: drew him as a tamandua on ms paint last night and that was enough for me to decide that that would be permanent for the foreseeable future
Risotto: polar bear he is huge and he is awesome
Doppio: if he were to be a different species than diavolo then he'd probably be like a bobcat or a cheetah or something idk I love cats but my favourites are the big cats (panthera genus I'm not including cheetahs and pumas or any other wild cats in there although I love them all in one way or another)
Diavolo: you guessed it: Amur leopard
Cioccolata: currently I'm calling him a crocodildo but I think an emerald tree boa or some kinda colubrid could do real well too
Secco: freakishly huge tokay gekko they do not usually get to the size of folk like bucciarati and fugo
