my body feels so much calmer when im reading. almost like my autonomous nervous system goes into parasympathetic mode and the liquid inbetween my cells isnt jumping around my endocrine system isnt releasing stress hormones my dopamine is liberated organically and i am forming coherent more than 0,00005 millisecond thoughts in my head and i get a perspective different from my own (thank god). i love hearing the cars drive through the highway and the sound of the wind and seeing the sky color change from blue to almost black while i am still on the sofa glued to my book and i dont think of myself poorly

“Maybe that’s enlightenment enough: to know that there is no final resting place of the mind; no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom...is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go.” -Anthony Bourdain (June 25th 1956-June 8th 2018)
