What’s this book about?
Ah - it’s quite complex you see, there’s this villain, and a wonderful one at that - has completely gotten away with their crime. The reason? [ Eyes brighten with excitement. ] They are posing as a member of the detective’s team! Helping them “solve” a case they themselves are responsible for! Absolutely brilliant!
Might I just add that the Rune Archives will be strictly off limits while you throw your vegetables around --

Late Nights } Selphy/Skye
Trampoli was a town that seemed to have nothing. It was a small town, full of small shops and farm land and not much else. Of course there was a member of the De Sainte Coquille family in town, but that break-in was being saved for the last night that he was in town.
Having heard of a treasure that was kept in a small house in the town, Skye set that as his destination for the night. Travelling up to the small building, it was late into the night when he peered through the window and into the dark room. Unable to see much, he decided to just head inside and see what he could find.
And what he found was a girl with a book, sitting among many other books. Although the literature was not much of a treasure to the young man, he focused his attention on the other person instead. “Good evening… ♥”
At first, the blonde didn’t even flinch in response to the late night visitor, as she was deeply invested in the current novel wedged in her hands. “Hm?” The delayed response eventually came, as blue eyes peeked away from the pages and curiously around the archives, looking for whoever spoke out.
Eventually she found the man - one that certainly was not from Trampoli if his clothing was any indication.
“Oh! My apologies, we’re not open right now - or... wait?” Selphy paused to rub a tired eye, looking around once more, this time for any sort of indication of the time. “Uh... well, actually, that depends on what time it is.”
Is it a ghost?
Tori was walking back from a late night walk. She had stayed out a little bit later than she intended, admiring the view from the top of the mountain. Before she knew it, she could hear the owls hooting. The moon was bright enough to light the path down the mountain, but once she reached the bottom, the the moon went behind a cloud. It became much darker, and even though Tori was familiar with the path, she couldn’t help but feel a bit unnerved. Telling herself that was silly, she continued down the familiar path, until…
Step. Step. Step.
Those weren’t her footsteps. Tori stopped walking.
Step.
Silence.
Too terrified to look over her shoulder, Tori called out. “I-Is so-someone… th-there?”
It was a rather unusual occurrence that Selphy would leave the walls of the Rune Archives, but having just finished a fascinating mystery novel she was ready to find a mystery of her own. And of course, what better way to find the perfect mystery than by moonlight?
Much time had passed, and nothing of any interest could be found by the librarian, aside from the ambient sounds of the mountains and its wilderness. Selphy perked to attention however, when she heard the feint sound of footsteps and she quickly followed in pursuit.
That was odd - the steps had stopped. Had whatever culprit she was perusing caught on?
Well they certainly didn’t sound like any culprit - but Selphy knew better than to fall for false appearances.
“I’m here -- yes, and I have a few questions for you!” Her declaration was followed by a quick judgmental point towards the other. “Don’t think I haven’t caught on to you!”
Late Nights } Selphy/Skye

With the summer nights just beginning, the days were longer, and as a result, Selphy was more likely to lose track of time. Finally looking up from the novel her nose had been buried in, sapphire eyes widened in surprise as she’d finally noticed the lack of natural light in the Archives.
“Drats!” She had forgotten dinner once again, but that hadn’t worried her as much as the fact that now she’d have to close down and wait until tomorrow to find out if the Great Detective would find the thief. Of course, Selphy already knew it was the store owner responsible for her own robberies -- but, she was exited nevertheless.
However... if she simply stayed up in the Archives reading, then she could finish her book -- and of course, open the Archives in a timely manner.
Huh? Cherry Blossom Festival? [ Looks to the calendar on the desk of the archives. ]
Whoops, slept through another festival!
/He stops, turning his head to the blonde girl. Stammers out/ Oh- I didn't expect someone to be here... I'm just- I'm just looking around.
[ Tilts her head to the side with a slight teasing grin. ] Hmmm - so you’re saying you thought this was an unsupervised building? In that case I certainly hope you weren’t planning anything...
[ Pauses, cupping a hand around her mouth as she leans towards the man. ] Illegal.
/Gray opens the door to the library and quietly shuts the door behind himself. He takes a few moments to look around, take in the fact this is in fact a library. He doesn't seem to notice that there is in fact someone else inside as he picks up a book from a shelf, looking it over/
[ Leaned so far back in her chair behind the desk that she would have been barely visible to any passersby, Selphy leafed through the pages of a novel, barely reacting to the sound of the door until moments after. ]
Mmmm ~ hi! ♪ Welcome to the Rune Archives and all that. Um, the books are kinda organized in an ... nontraditional way, so let me know if you need help finding something! [ A bright smile as she secretly hopes the man won’t - as she had just gotten to a pretty good part in her novel. ]
♔ Inspiration } [Open]
With the rough draft of her book in hand (which, in Selphy’s case meant an assortment of loose sheets of paper adorned with near-illegible writing all over the pages) Selphy made her way down the unfamiliar path. Where had she ended up? Well that was precisely the mystery she intended to solve - right after finishing the next chapter of her novel.
The blonde woman sat herself on the nearest bench, shuffling through papers as she attempted to make order of her mess, which now nearly took up most of the bench. Frantic searching began, as Selphy began to realize she may of forgotten the most important piece a writer could have - a pen.
Bouncing to her feet, the librarian looked down the path she had just came, and noticed a stranger was slowly approaching. Wasting no time, she ambushed the stranger her overly cheerful voice ringing as she called out.
“Hello! Excuse me - you there! Would you happen to have a pen, a pencil, anything? Heck, I’d take chalk, raw lead!”
Get Pranked [Selphy/Mistel]
[Nods stoically, coming closer to the counter and pulling up the sleeve of his shirt in order to better see his watch.] Perhaps it might be best if we synchronize our time pieces and meet up in a predetermined location? I’ll have my men scout the area in advance to be sure it’s not bugged. Let’s say–
[Hums briskly for a moment, nods, and looks up to her.] By the large tree in the square, at precisely 3 o’clock. Does that work for you?
[ Nods along slowly, attempting not to smile or laugh as to allow herself to get into proper character. ] Scouting the area would be the best precaution - make sure your men scout the higher, out of reach places as well... [ Purses her lips trying not to break after her sly remark. ]
Three. By the tree. An agent and a poet! Well isn’t this just a wonderful day. We’ll meetup there to discuss our next move. Keep low, talk quietly, and above all else Fritz - trust no one.
Get Pranked [Selphy/Mistel]
[Well– he cant very well carry on with her directly watching him, now can he? He falters for a moment, still smiling awkwardly - before cocking a brow at her introduction.]
… [The smile is firmly back in place a moment later.] A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Detective Selphy. Due to the confidentiality of the organization I work for, all I can tell you is that my name is Fritz, but–
[He lowers his voice to a near-whisper, cupping a hand to his mouth as he continues.] I have indeed seen something suspicious. But we probably oughtn’t discuss it here. The walls have eyes, you know. It concerns the– b-o-o-k-s.
[Continues to stare at the man, attempting to gauge if he was still lying or not, but unable to tell now that he’s hiding it better. ]
Yes, and the same to you Fritz. [ She says the name as awkwardly as it sounds to her, as it sounds like the name of a cracker or a snack... ]
[ Looks up curiously and tilts her head as he continues on, leaning forwards as much as possible, straining herself to listen as Fritz begins to whisper. ] Does it? Well that certainly is an important matter... Where would you suggest we rendezvous then? In order to talk about this, licensed official to licensed official?

[His head whips around - startled that there’s anyone in the room at all. He’d thought he’d gotten a lucky break in finding the library empty until just this moment.] Oh! Um– absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. [Smiles innocently. Too much so.]
[ Raises a brow at the man’s rather obvious lying, smiling slightly to herself.]
Is that so? Well then, carry on. [Nods her head and rests her head in her hand as she watches the stranger.]
Ah yes, I should introduce myself.
I’m Selphy, the town’s greatest detective, here watching the archives as security while the librarian is away. So let me know if you see anything suspicious, alright?
[He's standing in front of and staring at one of the bookshelves in the library, one hand reached out to remove something from the shelf - before he seems to regret the decision he's about to make. He sighs and withdraws his hand, shaking his head.] No, no, that's probably too mean.
[ Busy reading a book under the reception desk of the Rune Archives, she ignores the sound of someone entering the shop, too absorbed in the words before her. She is however, awoken from her trance by the words the stranger spoke not too long after.]
Hmm? [Snaps the book shut and stands on her feet, leaning on the counter and looking at the man.]
And what, exactly, would be too mean?

He knew that he had received a letter from her the moment he picked up his mail for the day. They were of a different shape than the others, so her letters stuck out from the rest clearly while in a pile.

The reply came only a few days later, but the nerves and thoughts that clouded Selphy’s mind after sending the first had made it seem like much longer. Attempting to trick herself into being nonchalant, she causally placed her mail upon the desk in the Rune Archives, looking around in hopes of picking up a good book for the evening.
Only to be tearing into her mail a few moments later, and attempting to absorb every letter from the page as fast as possible.
