...on a Tuesday Another work pup. 4 miles in the spitting rain. I made a quiche on Sunday and it was one of my brighter ideas. This post had way more words in my head but I'm on my iPad and too tired to type with two fingers.

Habits are like financial capital – forming one today is an investment that will automatically give out returns for years to come.

First free weekend in forever called for sleeping in and a late afternoon run. 3 miles easy. Not going to lie, I ran through part of the recovery laps. It was just too cold and damp to walk it.
It’s Fridayyyy!
Here have a playlist.
Love running to No.Sleep.
Odesza, release a new one soon please & thank you.
4 miles in the bank.
This week I’m using 1/2 mile intervals.
I’m already a bit over the run/walk thing and would rather just run, but I have a feeling it’s better if I stick with the plan.
Despite the rain, overall I’m happy tonight’s run. It felt much better than I was expecting since I’m still sore as from circuit training on Tuesday.
I’d like to end this post with a moment of silence for the major case of regret I have about never running the Nike Women’s 1/2 Marathon.
I’m sure the Victory Tour will be amazing but I’m bummed I won’t get to cross that race of my bucket list.
It's dark. It's cold. It's raining. But I'm still going to go for my run. This is why the magical elves invented reflective clothing.
She is queen.
Sam has taken over my office. The only way in is over.
Can’t say I don’t approve.
BTW one of the best perks of my job is the dog policy.
So much fun to play with puppies without having any of the responsibilities of being a dog owner.
Mother of dragons, this stuff is so good. Chocolate milk will always be my post run drink of choice and this did not disappoint. It tastes like a candy bar. Also the glass bottle has got me like 😍😍😍. Heart eyes for days.
From yesterday's easy 5 miler. Took the Burke Gilman to Gas Works. It was probably the emptiest I've ever seen. Not sure if it was empty because of the miserable weather or the Seahawks game.
In an effort to rebuild my base I’ve decided to follow a 12 week 5k plan.
I’ll run 4 days, with weekly mileage starting at 12 building up to about 25.
I’m on Week 2.
Week 1 was a bit of a shit show. I’d run a mile too fast, pause forever, then run again, too quickly - wash rinse repeat.
This week I decided to use intervals to curb the random breaks and slowly build my endurance.
On the one hand it feels like a massive slice of humble pie. Run/walking with a weekly mileage that once upon a time I would easily run in a day.
On the other hand, I know it works. It’s how I got started. Couch to 5K and all that jazz.
I just need to be patient, put in the miles, and remember that nobody cares about my pace or weekly mileage.
run etc part deux
Last weekend I logged in for the first time in years.
(I mean that literally.)
I remember when I wrote that “au revoir tumblr” post. What I said was true, I had outgrown this space. Mostly because 2013 was a bit of a magical year with running.
The year of Big Sur and PRs and no injuries.
Running in 2013 wasn’t always easy, but finding motivation was.
It feels like that ease, that drive, has slowly deteriorated.
I’m ready to bring back that lovin’ feeling with running and figured this was a good place to start.
Tumblr was the best accountability buddy when I started running. Before I cared about splits and GPS watches and $100 running pants and gu.
And it introduced me to some of my favorite Melbourne people.
I guess I’m hoping some of that magic will rub off in Seattle.
Hello, it's been a while. I guess you could say I've outgrown this space. When I started runetc I was obsessed with running and weight loss and healthy living. I dreamed of running a marathon and could never imagine that a year later I would do so. I'm still about running, healthy eats, and all that jazz, but I no longer need a dash full of motivational quotes and pictures of salads to inspire me. Thanks a million for following and answering my annoying questions and supporting me along the way. Seriously love you to bits. (I've started a new tumblr so don't be surprised if you see my face liking all your posts. Some things change but more stay the same...xx)
Hey linna-pee you're right... $128 is more than I'd pay for a local 1/2 marathon.
But registration for SeaWheeze comes with:
Entrance to the Sunset Festival
Free yoga classes
SeaWheeze exclusive shorts
Post race brunch
It looks like one big fitblr party. I think it'll be well worth it. It sold out in an hour so hopefully Lululemon knows what they're doing.
Plus The Nike Women's Half is $175(?) and the Disneyland Half Marathon is $195 so it's not like it's the priciest event out there.
Anyways it should be a fun. I'm just happy I was able to get in :)
Too pumped. Been stressed all week I wouldn't get a spot. Now crossing fingers everyone else gets in.
La Boulange finally made it to my Starbucks.
All i want to do is crawl into bed but instead I'm going to go to my training group track workout.
Whatevs.
