It's only the beginning, but 2015 has been amazing thus far. I embarked on a road trip across four provinces in Central Luzon in the Philippines and was blown away again and again by landscapes, and slopes, and waves, and sunsets that were so magical I could hardly believe my eyes.
And I could hardly believe myself as well, as life happened so grandiosely, sometimes over and over all in one day, and how I generously gave myself up and let it consume me. I let the light take over me and I shone, and I soared, and the blood in my veins felt like stardust, and I was magic. Everything was.
I drove a dune buggy through rolling hills, drifted through sharp turns in a race kart, milked a goat, watched a mama goat give birth to a baby goat, played with adorable little goats, fed sharks, fed pawikans, watched dolphins play, held a rare white eagle, carried a python, listened to the moving stories of rescue of all these remarkable creatures, rappelled down four floors albeit shaking terrified, rode a giant swing that felt akin to dying, laughed endlessly when I realized I survived, learned archery and impressed my coach at how good I was at it although my first time, floated 300 feet above sea level hanging from a parasail, rode a wave surfing, crashed and bruised myself bad from surfing, got up to do it again, swam and stumbled through a rocky shore, hiked a majestic hill soaking in my bikini, reached the top to explore a beautiful, abandoned lighthouse, and there soaked in all of nature's glory while I whisper my infinite gratitude to the universe through the wind brushing coolly against my sea drenched cheeks.
Above all, I feel fueled. Fueled by the 25 new people in my life who were like my family as we rolled through roads and bridges in our big bus, watching movies together, eating snacks, throwing ridiculous jokes at each other,Ā and laughing so loudly like kids all the time. These are free-spirited souls whose light and talent and passion inspired me further, and whose faith and relationship with nature, travel, and the universe were so aligned with mine I swear all of us coming together was meant to be.
And it really is, isn't it? Everything in life is as it should be, after all. There are no coincidences, for nothing good gets away. Wherever you are, that's where you should be, and I thank the stars for that.
