Something that annoys me about a lot of janka content is the fact that in one way or another it puts them into this predator/prey dynamic. Racism and mischaracterization aside, some of it also carries a noncon-ish vibe that I just don't fuck with. So, even if it's not something vivid, I try to make sure that in my janka art you can tell that they're both active and willing participants in whatever it is they have going on. They're weird and not by any means healthy, but I still want their weird unhealthy shit to be mutual and, for lack of a better word, consensual (even if it's not spoken out loud)
Zanka isn't a helpless little glass fairy trapped inside a cage that is big bad Jabber's claws, he's strong and capable and only participates in something he wants/can handle. Jabber loves to push Zanka's limits, but he still prefers to see Zanka be the one to break through, yk?
In this Zanka is willingly showing interest in something Jabber is passionate about, and even if it's something like getting injected with a mysterious hallucinogen of Jabber's choice, it's still something he takes part in because he wants to ..
and on Jabber's end he doesn't just go for a stab without a warning and actually waits for Zanka to push his claws forward because:
1. He likes to see Zanka push himself out of his comfort zone (most people don't feel too comfortable with stabbing themself with a claw full of poison so if Zanka suggested it he shall follow through)(also he's just excited about Zanka wanting to feel what some of his poisons are capable of. Sweet isn't it <3)
2. He feels like if Zanka doesn't have enough control over the situation, he's gonna walk out of this experience feeling dissatisfied and regretful, so the chance of him not initiating something like this ever again is way higher ..
Jabber is having too big of a blast to let Zanka distance himself from him now that they're this deep into their twisted idea of intimacy. He likes having Zanka open like this, likes how easy it is for him to unwrap in front if him
And Zanka's reason behind why he even suggested letting Jabber stab him (even if veeery lightly) is something that he himself is confused about. Aside from the obvious desire for closeness he probably finds the thought of LETTING Jabber do something like this exciting... Does that make sense??
And the process itself does pay off I guess. A combination of an adrenaline rush (cus at the end of the day he is letting his rivalover use his weapon on him, and if Jabber randomly decided to kill him he totally could) and comfort (having Jabber hold him close, warm against his back, and as Zanka finally feels a mix of pain and giddiness, Jabber is gonna murmur nonsense in his ear that makes less and less sense as he loses his touch with reality)
When they both (Jabber would probably stab himself too tbh) sober up he feels like absolute SHIT like everything hurts he feels like he could throw up any minute but he still wants to do that again
