Chicken Homes Needed!
Hey, chickenblr! Some of you may recall that I have an awesome little bantam rooster named Corporal!
Well, as chickens will do, he procreated this year. Out of the resulting 11 chicks, a surprisingly low number of 3 ended up being male. As I have learned from past experience, once these guys decide they can kick their dad’s butt, they absolutely will and will do it thoroughly and with vigor. Corporal nearly died before I was able to intervene with his two previous sons, Dee and Dum. I still have these two; they free range with my full size flock and aren’t in with my bantams (and I’d be happy to adopt them out to willing parties! Hit me up for info) .
Anyway, these lads need homes! I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, and am quite willing to drive a reasonable distance to see the fellows have good homes.
First up we have this guy:
He shares an uncanny resemblance to Corporal, though he’s got shiny black feathers instead of Corporal’s blue. He’s a looker!
Next up we have:
This mighty fine boy sports some beautiful rich amber, gold, and rust feathers, plus a head crest and EXTRA TOES on each foot, which are a testamate to his partial Silkie heritage.
Lastly, there is:
This photo-shy kid has some ridiculously long tail feathers! Like, whoa they are loooong. He, too, has a cute head crest, and he shares his dad’s beautiful orange and blue plumage.
All three boys are a bit shy, though if given a few days of positive reinforcement and attention, I’m sure they’d be friendly little men. I got them milling around near me without fuss just by putting some grass clippings in their run.
I’ll be eternally grateful to anyone who can pass this around for me. If you’re interested in adopting any of these guys, send me a message! Thanks!
