All you gotta do is follow that connection.
Wonât we be quite the pair?âyou with your bad heart, me with my bad head. Together, though, we might have something worthwhile.

on the one hand, i love the tragedy of the metacrisis Doctor being trapped in a parallel universe and in a body that feel familiar and yet are very different to where he came from and what he used to be, stranded without a TARDIS and stuck on a planet that would become too small for him very fast, constantly longing for the stars he can't reach anymore, and resenting his other self for abandoning him for unfair reasons.
on the other hand, i accept as canon the deleted scene where the Doctor gives the metacrisis Doctor a piece of the TARDIS coral so that he can grow his own TARDIS, the most thoughtful parting gift that also acts as a promise that he's not being abandoned, that he will be able to live the remainder of his (now shorter) life somewhat normally, travelling through time and space alongside his friends, which is what any incarnation of the Doctor really wants.
both scenarios coexist in my mind and i love both equally.
