I finally deleted them.

ALL of them.

It was painful, but I knew it would be. What I didn’t expect though was this feeling of freedom from them. I may have missed a few here and there that I’ll take care of if they pop up, but for the most part- I don’t have to worry about seeing them anymore.

Maybe that will help.

Sometimes I wonder if you ever found the happiness you were painfully lacking. The piece to fill the void you were attempting to mute with countless things to only consume your time in order for you not to think about the emptiness.

I see now, all these years later, that I clearly thought too highly of you. I do wonder from time to time though, if you ever found a way to be the person I was convinced for so long that you were.

I wish you peace, and happiness, and fulfillment.

I wish that for me too.

Sometimes things are not as they seem. I don’t mean that in a “look harder” sort of way..

I mean that in a sense to where when you feel as though you’re drowning, you may have a life vest on that you would have never noticed if you didn’t take a moment to look around.

Look around you.

I beg of you.

When things get dark and life seems to be swallowing you whole, look around.

When you feel as though you won’t make it through the day; take a few breaths, and look around.

Life moves in a rhythmic motion; a movement.

Like sheet music.

And if you pause, stop flailing, and realize what’s around you, you’ll realize you knew how to swim the whole time.
