“Tom Marvolo Riddle” (Illuminate 2020)

For those who do not know, my main fine art focus over the past few years as an art student has been photography. I am an optical photographer meaning I love to shoot through objects to get different textures and effects during the shooting process.

For my advanced study, I chose to focus specifically on neon photography to create a better understanding of night time photo. I created all of my neon sign images digitally then shot them through glass, oil, water and soap in some images.

This was one of my favorite images because I created it as I was re reading the Harry Potter books :)

So first things first: these gorgeous Infernal Devices alternate dust jackets are sold out. I wanted you guys to see the artwork by Alice Duke because it’s SO GORGEOUS. I love that each cover shows two pairs of characters: Will and Tessa, then Jem and Tessa, then Jem and Will. I love all the details, like the angel wings, the spire of the London Institute, modern day Blackfriars Bridge, the library books and so much more! These were part of the Lost Book of the White box done by @faecrate and while that sold out, here’s hoping we see these again in a future box, right? 🤞😉

The gorgeous cover of Chain of Iron. I love all the details like the moths, Lucie’s Voyance rune, and the fact that she is holding Jesse’s Blackthorn locket (look at the close up and you can see the thorns etched on it.) some people have asked me if Lucie’s dress signifies anything but no, it’s just a yellow dress — yellow and blue lie at opposite sides of the color wheel and artists love contrasting them. It is winter in the background, as COI takes place during winter. Art and design by Cliff Nielsen. 💥
