Jackie's Yelp! Review:
Came here with a group of friends last night and was not disappointed. Personally, I ordered the Italian Sausage with spaetzle and spinach and whole grain mustard and it was perfect. Ate the entire thing. The sausage was perfectly flavored and was complemented by the whole grain mustard. The spaetzle was lightly fried in butter, making it lightly crispy and went well with the spinach. All 7 of us ordered different entrees and I can't remember a single complain from anyone. Our waiter was good enough, but forgot a glass of wine at one point. He did cater to a few substitution requests with was great. A variety of appetizers and desserts were ordered by the table and again, I can't remember any complains. The charcuterie plate looked delicious, and I had a chance to try another appetizer--sor of like a fried risotto ball. Really excellent--reminded me of a really high class hush puppy.
Hayley's Yelp! Review:
This place was awesome, but a tad expensive for the value by my book. I loved the decor and ambiance, though it is a bit small so if you have more than two or three you might want to make a reservation to be sure! The server was great for the most part -- he got a little bogged down but we had a party of seven with completely separate checks and multiple split items so it was very understandable. Among the seven of us, we had a variety of cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Everyone loved their food -- they'd just switched to their spring menu and it was not huge but had variety to please everyone. I tried the Blushing Bella cocktail, split the charcuterie plate app, had the fresh pasta with homemade local tomato sauce and excellent romano cheese for my entree, and devoured the goat cheese pudding for dessert (it wasn't REALLY solid/pudding like, but it was still good). My only beef with this place was the prices. Though I had a great experience and very good food, I felt everything was just a tad overpriced, and that feeling was exacerbated by our large orders and the number of people at the table. I'm more likely to come back for drinks and dessert or appetizers than a full meal again, but overall I liked it!
Supper club is trying #pomegranate in #Carytown tonight! Looking forward to it. #rvasupperclub #rva #rvaeats #rvadines

Julie's Yelp! Review:
Went with a group of friends - 6 people - seated right away at 6:00 on a Tuesday. By 7 there was a long line, so get there early! Food was great, Soul Cakes are better as dessert than appetizer, but the caramel/butter was very decadent. I ordered the shrimp and grits, the sauce on the shrimp was too sweet, I felt like I had to doctor it up with some Texas Pete, but the grits were spot on. Mac and cheese was traditional, delicious. Don't be thrown by the cabbage, many at our table were tempted to switch it out for another side, but it was buttery and savory yum! Try the fish dishes - its what they are best at! Portions are BIG Beware of a $3 plate sharing charge if you want to split an entree Service was attentive and friendly!
Jackie's Yelp! Review:
3/5 stars
Came here with a big group of friends last week. I was excited to try the place so many people had raved about! We were seated immediately, but the place was packed by the time we left! Our server was friendly and service was pretty quick. The menu is big, and left us all struggling to make a choice. I ordered the Butterfly Shrimp dinner with Mac and Cheese and Grits. The shrimp were pretty good, as I actually don't think I've had breaded/fried shrimp before! I've never found myself loving grits, and was hoping that cheddar-ranch ones would change my mind. I still feel the same about grits. I think the combination of Mac and Cheese AND Grits was too much to handle! The Mac and Cheese did manage hit the spot the next day. Perfect combination of cheesy, tangy, creamy! I was hoping a place with true southern charm would turn me into a "southerner", and Croakers Spot was a good way to get my feet wet, but I think I'll stick to non-southern fare for now. Definitely order the "Hot buttered soul"! You won't regret it!

We are a group of friends who have decided to explore Richmond, Virginia's dining establishments somewhat arbitrarily. Each month we pick a friend and a restaurant. The only rule is that the person whose month it is must choose somewhere that s/he has never been. We hope you enjoy our adventures.
