Hi! I'm Robin Faigmane, an 18 year old Electronics and Communications Engineering student from Tarlac City, Philippines who loves writing and capturing photos. I'm a student writer as well as a photojournalist. I appreciate arts so much that I made this blog. Feel free to browse my writings and images!
It’s the start of -ber months again and I’m getting a year older. I don’t know if my 19 years of existence is that meaningful or not but nonetheless I still feel like updating my blog and listing the 19 things I learned before I turn 19 this week. 1. People aren’t always there to stay Hard to say but let’s accept the fact. Even your closest friends aren’t there to stay forever. People come and…
Last month, I made an entry about the evolution of music. At the end of my post, I concluded that the future of it would be online streaming. After few days, Apple on its Worldwide Developers’ Conference, announced that it would offer its own music streaming service known as Apple Music. Having been fond of music and online streaming, I waited for the new service to launch last June 30 to compare…
Since the ‘Explore’ tab was introduced as a feature on the most famous mobile photo-social sharing app Instagram, lots and lots of people are getting a chance to discover others who share the same passion. I personally am glad to have such tab which oftentimes kills my boredom. Scrolling through an almost endless feed of photos from different types of users, it’s just fun to be connected to such…
Every time I blog hop, I usually go straight to either the about page or the blogging category. I somewhat get tips on how to be more efficient and effective from the latter one so I enjoy browsing through that section of a blog. Being so fond of it, I decided to make my own entry of the apps I use for blogging. Maybe you already use the apps I use, maybe not. But this is how blogging works,…
Another Thursday, another wonderful app to discover. One of the most annoying ‘things’ created are unfollowers. Personally, I TRY to follow almost everyone who follows me, especially on Instagram. For me it’s a natural thing to follow back since I consider the social media as a community. But for some people, following and then unfollowing is a way for gaining followers and likers. Well, that’s…
My Experience on the 17th Leadership Training Summit
My Experience on the 17th Leadership Training Summit
Last June 17 up to the 19th, select student leaders from our university went up to the summer capital of the Philippines otherwise known as Baguio City. I was among the 150 students who was lucky to have attended this Leadership Training Summit which held on its 17th year. Every first is memorable. Because of this, I decided to make an entry about my experience on this another memorable moment in…
The third and last day of our Ilocos trip was spent throughout Ilocos Sur. We toured different historic places around Vigan City which is one of the wonder cities in the world. Also, this day is when I felt very tired and wanting to go home already. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed and finished the whole day with a blast. We traveled all the way from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte (which is the last…
Being exhausted with day 1, I slept early to get some energy for day 2 which I’m greatly thankful for. To sum up the second day, it consisted almost about different bodies of water found in Ilocos Norte. First on the second day list is the Patapat viaduct. Patapat viaduct, located at the northernmost tip of Luzon island Another project by Sen. Bongbong Marcos, the Patapat viaduct serves as the…
It’s been quite a while since I started blogging, might as well make a post about what I am experiencing with the blogging world right now. I got my own domain and I’m loving it! It’s limitless what you can do when you’re hosting your own blog. Getting more used to WordPress than Tumblr now :) I like how WordPress makes its site mobile friendly. Well Tumblr also has its site responsive but…
I’ve always wanted to travel. Fortunately, my family had the opportunity to go up the north of Luzon Island to experience the rocky and windy Ilocos Sur and Norte. My sister paid for the entire trip which consisted about 20-30 destinations (not sure I lost count lol) throughout the Ilocos region. At first, I wasn’t that knowledgeable what Ilocos had to offer despite being expert at geography.…
Today I’m launching a new category under Tech which is Appy Thursday. This category would serve as an outlet to share with you guys the apps I love using. For my first entry, I’d like to share Google Photos, a new way to manage your images. If you’re like me who stores tons of photos, you’ll like how Google Photos organizes yours. Aside from organization, it also makes a back up of your images…
5 Things I'm Expecting for in my 2nd Year Life in College
5 Things I’m Expecting for in my 2nd Year Life in College
This day last year was my first day in college. Looking back, it fascinates me how time flew so fast as if it were someone running late for class. It also amuses me what a year could possibly make and change. Thinking aside, I thought of having a list of my expectations for another academic year in my college life. 1. Harder subjects Of course, I’m entering another year in COE. I’m expecting for…
Throughout the years, music has inevitably evolved. May it be through the creation of fresh genres, uprising of new artists or basically how we listen to it. Going back and reminiscing my childhood days, I realized that as early as 5 I was already heavily influenced with music by my siblings. Whenever I use the enormous and lagging desktop computer we had in the 00’s, my sister would open up…
A new category I’m launching tonight is WTF Fridays, inspired by the gorgeous and stunning blogger Corinth Suarez @ Explore with Corinth. This category would be an outlet to share to you guys the fonts which fascinates my inner love for typography.

You know what they say, “walang madaling course” (there’s no such thing as an easy course). College brings with it one of the biggest decisions you’ll make in your life. If I were to rank these decisions in life, marriage being first of course, I’d say it’s second. This big decision is what differentiates college from both elementary and high school. And what’s that? Choosing your course.
Choosing your course is a test itself. Last year, I had a hard time deciding which course I’d take. I applied for Accountancy, Psychology and even Philosophy that I didn’t realize that they all required extremely high entrance tests grade. I tell you, avoid quota courses at all costs unless you’re really sure about it and willing to exert a lot of effort. Going back, it’s a test itself since it’ll measure your deciding skills and your commitment to your choices. The results? Well the next 4 years will answer that.
Although the wind blew my fate into somewhere I didn’t expect it to, I still found myself enjoying the course I am taking at the moment. In fact, obviously, it’s one of my blog’s assets! If I weren’t to have taken ECE, maybe Tagakwentang Litratista or Sikolohistang Litratista or worst Pilosopong Litratista would be my blog’s title right now. Hahaha!
I’ve already finished my first year in college and I can say that I’ve seen a quarter of my college life and for that I’d like to point out some of the things I enjoy being an engineering student.
1. No memorization
Yes! Say goodbye to those biology with its anatomy stuff and also those lessons from history which are taught again and again with the same old story from first grade up to high school. I mean, history is very significant and in fact I’m a fan of it. I believe that only history will determine the future of our nation, though. But, come on, they’re just one of the most cumbersome subjects to review.
2. Less drama
Being an almost all guy-course, you would be surprised that your life has never been this calm. No more people who are judging you for what you look like going to school or people who are getting bored that they secretly bring you down when they are at a low point in their lives. Engineering students are too busy being productive that they have no time for dramas in life. All you can hear from them is “tara review tayo ng Math!”
3. Easy to get along with blockmates
Stereo typically speaking, guys are easier to get along with than girls. Again, being an almost all guy-course, engineering students are very easy to get along with. Having difficult lessons is enough to start a topic with them. Don’t worry, it’s not only you who’s having a hard time figuring out what’s on the board. Trust me, whenever your prof is discussing, 80% of the class pretend to grasp the lesson! My point is that you can converse and exchange opinions with engineering students with any topic under the sun which means more friends.
4. Understanding profs
Engineering profs are easy to get along with, too. I’m guessing they’ve gone through the same stage as engineering students are right now that’s why. Haha. It’s just that they know how to make a quite difficult problem into something interesting and fun problem. Interesting lessons + higher probability of learning = creativity level + engineering prof!
5. You’re in demand
Lastly, you’re a future engineer and after you graduate, whether you like it or not, you’re in demand. Own it! It’s high time that all the hardships be paid off.
I started using an iPhone back from two years ago. Before that, my first Apple product was an iPod touch. My phone back then was an Xperia from Sony which I personally loved for its great camera. Come January of that year, I got an iPhone 4.
Main reasons why I opted for an iPhone was it’s ease of use, security and yes, the camera. Don’t get me wrong, Android is also easy to use and very customizable (which for me is the top advantage compared to iOS.) Going back, I got my phone from Smart that day of January 23, 2013 (good memory haha.) I immediately went to the nearest shop which offers cases for that model. And then behold, I was so stunned at how many millions of different cases I could buy for my iGadget!
I collected almost 14 different cases for my iPhone 4 and used them for two years. I also give away some of them occasionally to my friends since I don’t use them all the time. Now I own a 6 and is starting to collect again! Haha. Yeah, it’s my obsession! But don’t worry, the money I use to pay come from my allowance. So where do I buy my cases? If you’re just like me who’s tired of going to the mall, checking for new stock of phone cases, well I recommend you buying online at
TMART.com.
PROS:
FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Yes, you read it right! Tmart offers free shipping worldwide. No minimum items needed. You pay exactly how much your items are priced at (plus tax, of course).
TONS OF CHOICES. They got a lot of varieties of cases especially for iPhones and Samsungs. Other than that, they also offer different techie stuff for your needs.
CHEAP PRICE. Price ranges from as low as 80Php (for clear jelly cases) and as high as 1000Php (for battery cases). Don’t worry about the quality of their cases, they’re fairly good for their price!
GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. You can inquire to their online customer service through chat anytime of the day. They are willing to help you on your queries. —I had my experience with their customer service one time. I ordered a battery case for my 4 and the first item that they shipped was faulty. I asked them to reship another one for me and I got it after 3 weeks. Apparently, I’m still not satisfied with the second item until I asked them again to ship another one which happened to suit me at last! This brought me into joy, somehow, since I had three battery cases! Tmart just proved that they’re really a trustworthy online shop which lives up to their customers’ satisfaction.
CONS:
SLOW SHIPPING. I usually get my orders 3 weeks after I placed them. Sometimes it takes me a month which is quite frustrating. But nonetheless, have patience my friends! Your cases will come in no time.
EXPENSIVE TAX FROM POST OFFICE. This one isn’t the fault of neither the supplier nor the courier. Our Bureau of Customs is the one responsible for such high taxes. An amount of 100Php is required before claiming your items! I personally don’t know where they intend to put that tax for, I just hope it goes for the betterment.
CREDIT CARD REQUIRED. This is a major disadvantage for those who do not have credit cards. I also don’t own one and what I do is borrow from my mom. However, I made a Paypal account for easier transactions.
LOW QUALITY PRODUCTS (some). I still haven’t tried any electronic products from them so I can’t assure you if they’re good at that. But as far as cases are concerned, yes, they’re really nice and fashionable.
Enjoy! I hope I helped you out on where to invest your hard earned money on cases. Online shopping is such a fun and exciting way of buying things but always be careful on what sites you give your infos to. Happy online shopping you guys. :)
