“if i say something weird, please don’t hesitate to correct me,” jina said with a wry smile, adjusting her phone that was open to voice memos and brushing invisible dust of her notebook. “i’m used to interviewing wrestlers, not idols. but i’m excited to be able to sit down with you today~”

“are you lost? you don’t look like a wrestler,” jina commented, raising an eyebrow at the scrawny-- albeit very pretty- boy in front of her. “i could be mistaken, of course, but you tend to need some kind of muscle to even be a scrappy underdog babyface...” @rvminsuk​

“alright, we need to touch base,” jina said firmly, notebook and pen in hand, clicking the nib in and out as a nervous tick to get her energy out. “i’ve been on holiday, and i haven’t been gone long, but long enough that i feel out of the loop. i need to know what’s happened-- in the ring, out, character development.... help me help you, okay?” @rvfuka​ @rvcaptain​ @rvmikyung​ @rvhimari​ @rvjenifer​ @rvtony @rvlance​

“that might  help,” she said, biting the inside of her cheek. “i don’t know. i’ve never done anything like this on my own before– i have no idea how they’d react. maybe i’ll bring the idea up first?”

“well, it’s a good thing you’re doing. you’re not asking to shave your head, you’re asking to be an advocate for something that would benefit your fans. talk to pr, but i’d be surprised if they weren’t interested.”

rvsolhee​:

“well, you have me. i would sign on. i’d have to work it out with spotlight, of course, but with iris slowing down, i’m sure i’d be available to work on philantropic projects if i wanted to,” she insisted.

“if you’re able to swing it, i would love to work with you,” jina retorted earnestly. “if i need to write something up for your agency, as sort of an invitation, let me know-- i will.”

“i’d be willing to bring it up with creative. it’s a unique idea, that i haven’t seen with a lot of promotions. the idea of a heel presenter is pretty cool,” himari answered

“i think so too! and since it’s so unique, if it works, it might turn heads and get international eyes our way...”

“yeah…” she began, sighing. “it’s hard to know what i can and can’t say, and i’m always toeing the line but….. this is important. it should be a hill i want to die on,” she agreed.

“well, then, maybe you don’t ask permission,” jina countered. “i don’t know your position, but you seem important to your group and the company. and it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission...”

“well, you don’t seem idol-rich, but you seem well off. i’m sure you could do it. just get an idol to sign on and you’re golden.”

“well, you’re not wrong. i’m a presenter, not a celebrity,” she admitted with a snort. “i’ll work on that, i suppose.”

“i’d need to think about it. and talk to other people. and find some partners. but it’s something i’m interested in,” seola said.

“well, you have my help if you want it. ripley from venus seemed interested too. there are more of us ready to fight this fight than  you think,” jina answered

“have you ever thought about making some sort of campaign?” she asked, chewing her thumbnail. “i’ve seen some wester campaign. maybe south korea needs one….. i’d definitely sign on.”

“it’s definitely crossed my mind. i don’t think i could do it alone-- i’d need millenium’s backing for sure, and some high profile people who could help represent it but.... i think it’s needed,” she answered

“you’re like…a performer and a journalist all in one. i’m sure that’s something you could arrange. even if it’s a part time contract on your own dime.”

“now that i know it’s something that would help, i’ll look into it. thank you byul. that’s incredibly helpful,” she answered

“i don’t think. i know,” himari answered with a laugh. “gina would fit great. we need someone spreading our propaganda.”

“that’s a fun sort of angle-- maybe we need to not joke about it and actually look into it,” jina laughed. “or at least propose it to the writers.”

“i know, but i still feel responsible. i don’t want people to look at me, and it to be some sort of a trigger, you know? but yeah….that’s probably one of the few good things spotlight’s done..”

“well... i don’t know how much leeway you have, but it doesn’t hurt to be vocal that that’s what you’re feeling, if you can?” jina offered. “be clear and upfront. it cuts down on all the smoke and mirrors.”

“make it a lot less appealing for those little girls. eating disorders are a lot less glamorous if you know from the jump that it’s just fucking diarrhea.”

“well... you’re not wrong, i guess,” she said, wry smile on her face. “maybe i need to figure out how to do some wider counter-advertising...”

“maybe that’s what i’ll do with the last of my juliette bag. lobby a bunch of politicians to gut the fuck out of that industry,” seola snorted

“well...i know you’re joking, and it would take a lot of money but....someone has to. and if you make a charity or a movement..... i think it’s worth it.”

“right– there’s really no good solution,” byul agreed. “i can’t imagine you’d be able to hire a part time assistant to sift through your inbox and discard anything like that.”

“you know, i might be able too. i’ll have to look into that. if i was just a wrestler, i’m sure i’d already have some sort of management. i’m a performer too-- it’s something i should see if i can get,” she said thoughtfully.

“well, i think you think the right way,” she insisted. “i don’t know how it’s not illegal, but at least people with a code and honor are trying to protect vulnerable kids.”

“i just hope its enough. i know some kids are going to slip through the cracks but i just...don’t want any little girl to choose this shit and suffer for it.”
