Just because Blake didn’t explicitly say she was uncomfortable or tell Sun to leave her alone doesn’t mean she wanted him there with her. He followed her—STALKED her—without her knowledge, and had no intention of revealing himself even after she tried to confront him. She made it clear that her only goal was to go back to her family, alone, and he inserted himself into her plans not only without her consent, but without even giving her a chance to deny him.
Maybe the writers don’t see the problem with what Sun did, but he shouldn’t be excused or defended for this kind of behavior.
I love how bumblebitch shippers love to deny Blake’s entire character arc and flaws when its time to demonize Sun.
In V2 the same happened to Blake (she became reclusive, obssesive and self-destructive), and Yang intervened, except with added racist joke and physical force that y’all romanticed and sexualized, but somehow Sun following an emotionally unstable and possibly suicidal Blake after a monster apocalypse is Abusivè™ Stalking™.
The levels of double standards are ridiculous.
I love how you immediately brought shipping into this as if the original post had anything to do with that.
Calling out creepy behavior and general bad writing in a character is not “demonizing” them. I’m just pointing out that what Sun did was wrong regardless of his intent. He never said he was worried about Blake’s mental health. He never expressed concern for her well being. He assumed she was going after the White Fang and decided to tag along, without telling her, and while hiding himself until a fight broke out. It doesn’t matter how good his intentions might have been, he literally did stalk Blake and that was wrong of him.
And since you want to bring up the scene with Yang in Volume 2, let’s go over that. The laser pointer joke was in bad taste, but the writers continue to make animal-related jokes about faunus characters, so it seems to me that’s not so much an issue with Yang’s character as it is with the white writers not having anyone to check them. Especially considering that Yang is vocally sympathetic to the faunus and supportive of equal rights for them.
And the physical force you mentioned was just to demonstrate that Blake was exhausted. She hadn’t eaten or slept very much, if at all, in days, but insisted that she could fight someone like Roman if he happened to appear. Blake wasn’t aware of her own physical weakness, and Yang was reminding her. I’m not saying it’s okay to be violent with people, but sometimes you need someone to give you a literal shove.
Almost all of my issues with Sun come from the fact that he’s badly written with next to no characterization to speak of, and his existence revolves solely around Blake. Pointing out the writers’ flaws is not at all demonizing him, nor is it any kind of double standard. I actually like Sun, believe it or not, but the complete lack of growth and development is getting aggravating, so forgive me if I’m losing my affection for him.

Rwby but Tai was the cool dad we thought he was and wasn't an asshole
ideal tai: kind, gentle, a very loving and supportive father two his children who have gone though a lot. makes jokes all the time but knows when to stop. not an asshole
Rwby but Jaune's first attempt at strategy while turning to be good was a fluke and Jaune is mistaken as the leader type by Oz. So Jaune must learn what it really takes to be a stratigic leader.
“Violence isn’t the answer” is a really weird stance for RWBY to take on minority rights given that the show’s central premise was a fifteen-year-old girl going to combat school to learn how to be a hero by fighting and killing with her gun/scythe
Rwby but the female characters have defined noses instead of dots.
Rwby but Ruby is the main character
too unrealistic :/
Okay I had to
What did they say that was a joke about LGBT ships?
I mean more in general, but crwby constantly making jokes and comments about 'the bees', putting a bee on yangs v4 pants, essentially the entirety of chibi but yang holding up a save the bees sign etc etc
i wish crwby didn’t make jokes about lgbt ships and shipping when they clearly don’t take it seriously, given they’ve been saying for years we’ll get representation
the show’s artists didn’t create such sexualised outfits for characters that are mostly minors
miles doesn't hide behind 'wanting to get better at writing romance' to put off adding lgbt characters, when clearly he doesn't actually care when arkos and iceberg were still forced into the show
positive portrayals of masculinity where it's not a joke™ for a man to wear a dress
yang and blake cry and hug when they are reunited
