Joker pressed a hand to his own chest as his eyes snapped open, unfocused grey slowly taking in the scene. His…teammates…that’s right, they had been cornered, and were fighting. One of the shadows had gotten a good hit on him…

He looked down, noticing the red staining his black clothes clearly,and had to bite back a cry as the pain finally filled his mind. Managing to fish out one of Takemi’s medicines, he downed it, feeling his wounds heal, not fully, but enough for now.

Akira could vaguely here the angry cries of his friends,and realized the fact that he had passed out with blood around him,must have made them assume he was dead. Well, he’d have to show them he was okay

Standing on shaky legs, he grabbed his mask, ripping it off. “ARSÉNE!” He yelled, bringing attention to his sudden ‘revival’. He didn’t have much time to focus on that fact, however, as he felt Arsene’s power appear, and had him take out the remaining shadows quickly.

Once Arsene disappeared, the pain and the sticky blood reminded him of what happened. He probably still looked pale, and like a mess, but Joker knew his team was waiting.

“…I…I’m not the type to die easily. Don’t worry.” He waved a red glove, blood on it as well, even if it was harder to see.

He’d thought he had been careful, in the fight with Akechi. When he had made those shadows go psychotic, he had been on guard, and even more so when Akechi had appeared, clearly ready to kill him. Joker wasn’t planning on dying, not without a fight at least.

And so far, it was going well. That is until Akechi faked them all out. Pulling off…some move to distract them, most guarded, but he, had chosen to dodge. 

And that was the fatal error.

Somehow, he had calculated for where Akira was going to move and had already positioned himself, moving to where Joker was. And Akira only noticed the laser sword coming for him at the last minute, before it struck him, slicing through skin and muscle.

The other Phantom Thieves’ voices were far away, and he swore he heard many screams, one even might have been his own. He didn’t even noticed he had dropped his nice. No, grey eyes were drawn to the light blue blade, now coated with red that dripped off it, and onto the floor. His blood, he reminded himself.
