► CONNECTIONS
Ryder Lynn - They first met by chance when both of them were going for the only empty hammock at the Oak Grove. Ryder let Marley have it and took a seat against the tree the hammock was tied to instead. After a while of doing homework, Marley was the first to break the silence and they lost track of time chatting. The next day, Ryder was waiting for her on the same hammock, claiming he’d been saving it for her. Thus, a tradition of meeting there after class started. Marley enjoys having someone she can openly talk to and has even told Ryder about her dreams of becoming a song writer. She still hasn’t worked up the courage to actually show him the lyrics she’s been working on, though.
Jake Puckerman – She doesn’t know what to make of Jake yet. Of course, she’s heard about his reputation as the campus flirt – a reputation that can only be rivaled by his brother’s -, so she usually doesn’t take him seriously. The confusing part is that she was under the impression that Ryder was into her and Jake is his best friend… surely making a pass at her would be breaking some kind of unwritten code.
Kitty Wilde – As far as Marley knows, she hasn’t done anything to get on Kitty’s bad side. Still, it’s kind of obvious that the other girl doesn’t like her, even if the two of them have barely talked to each other. She heard Kitty make a comment about the “cafeteria lady” and fears that Kitty knows she’s Marley’s mom. It’s not that Marley is ashamed, she has nothing but love and admiration for her mom, but people have been cruel about her in the past and Marley’s never been good at confronting others, least of all someone like Kitty.
