It certainly wasn’t a common name, and something about the way it was said made Raven wonder if there was a story, but she didn’t question, it was safer not to. A laugh escaped her at the question, thinking it over again in a minute of silence before shrugging, “Keeping the peace, definitely, drinking...is more out of necessity than anything else lately. What about you? Drinking alone? Don’t seem the type.”

the  mention  of  food  made the blonde perk up slightly  ,  a glimmer in her eyes  .  the house was becoming packed  ,  &  by her own selfish desire to stay by raven’s side  ,  she’d opted with simply sharing a room  .  though  ,  she never complained  .  raven’s scent had become soothing to the praetor  ,  home  .  the sleep was all but slapped away from her as the quirky small blonde bounced towards the calanoc  &  the door  ,  hand resting on her keeper’s wrist before calling out behind her for whoever to hear her .  “  touch the bag of chips before i get down there  !  &  i’ll throw your pillow out the damn window .  ”

She couldn’t help the laugh that came at how quickly the blonde changed as she practically raced for the living room. The house wasn’t overly full, she suspected more would come with the bar and other places being attacked, but it felt like home, at least to Raven. Once they reached the table, the brunette grabbed the chips and dropped them onto the place set for Ofe, lips still turned in a calm smile, there was a storm coming and yet she was happier than ever right here. Grabbing her burger from the bag, Raven curled herself into the chair at the head of the table, legs tucked under her body, she still had moments where she felt the need to be as small as possible. “I hope you had a better day than me, town is crazy...and this close to the holidays..”

quick fyi, since it’s now become a thing, i am looking for more of ravens lost children. don’t have to be wolves, but ‘kids’ of the downworld who p much don’t have anywhere else to go/need a safe place. raven is definitely not a mom but she’ll protect them with her life. (theres a wc going in for it)

also you bet your ass that she’s dragged all the spare blankets and shit out for anyone who needs it after the attacks, despite trying to stay neutral as ever.

Her brow raised as her nose wrinkled, shaking her head, “Fermented cabbage sounds absolutely vile, but the beef I could try, though why marinate perfectly good beef?”

His words only served to make the girl smirk, her own brow raised, “Oh you’re gonna make me huh?” The wolf scoffed at him, continuing her pacing as thoughts raced through her mind, “You are welcome to try, but for the clarity, you’re the one out of us who isn’t broke.”

the  wolf  sat  on  the eldest’s bed  .  headphones tucked neatly in her ears  ,  letting her head lull itself into the wall behind  .  &  before she knew it  ,  ofelia had fallen into a comfortable rhythm of sleep  .  until she heard a noise beyond the music  ,  eyes twitching before lazily opening them  !  “  raven  ?  ”  she called out groggily  ,  mattress creaking  ,  weight shifting  &  her feet touched the floor beneath  .

Setting the bags of food on the table, Raven called out to those who were around before making her way up into her shared bedroom with Ofelia, if anything was left by the time she got the blonde downstairs she would be lucky, but it was a choice the elder wolf could be happy with, being able to protect so many. As she opened the door and saw the way Ofe was curled up with her music, she felt guilty disturbing the rare peaceful moment, but the smile soon returned upon hearing the sleepy voice of the girl she considered family, “Hey little bug, foods here if you’re hungry?”

          INHIBITIONS AND ALL… OR THE LACK OF THEM, is what lets the soft chuckle escape them. ❝ well, i can tell you the blunt and always honest answer to that is no. i don’t pay for my drinks if i can help; sure as hell not paying for others. ❞ and even when they did pay, half the time it wasn’t with their money. oh how proud their mother would be if they saw them now. bringing their drink to their lips, they took a slow sip, brown eyes watching the floor stretched out before them. a question wanders through their mind: what’s out there? they shoo it away just as quickly, soured by the unwelcome intrusion. tonight’s a night to have fun and forget about all that. ❝ what’s your name? ❞

She didn’t immediately want to rip their head off, so that was a start surely, she thought, perhaps she could survive another night without completely wolfing out and causing more trouble in town. Nose wrinkling at the idea that she might have to find some money for drinks, she let out a sigh, “Raven. Yours?” She asked, looking up for another second, the hint of a smile gracing her features before her eyes scouted the room, looking for anyone who looked to be from out of town or a little too intoxicated, easy targets. “I’m too tired for this shit today.”

what’s happened since then?

Raven is still not a part of the Wilshire pack, though she works at the Hunters Moon and alongside the pack, it’s pretty much set and agreed that she works much better alone.

She is no longer Praetor Lupus. She wears her necklace with pride and they still support what she does, it was seen as ‘safer’ for the Praetor to step away from Wilshire with the coming war.

She’s still running on her old bike, takes pride in fixing it up and taking long rides when she isn’t able to run freely.

Her home is now pretty much open to any and all supernatural who have nowhere else to go, taking in strays like herself. she protects those who cannot protect themselves.

          THE LIGHTS ARE DIM, and the music is loud in the bar. it’s just alyosha’s sort of place. they’ve got a table towards the back, just past the games ( which they’re definitely going to be hustling playing later ), with a great view of the dance floor. it’s solitary which, considering they’re not out with friends, is perfectly fine with them… but they also don’t mind the person that approaches the table. what comes out of their mouth isn’t slurred but it shows the drink in front of them isn’t their first. ❝ if you want to sit down with me, that’s fine, but i’m gonna warn you: i’ll lie to you. not all the time, and feel free to lie in return, but, y’know… ❞ they wave their hand. it is what it was.

The music rivaled even the roar of her engine on a good day, and for that Raven was so grateful, she could drown out whatever was going on in her head and she didn’t even need to find an excuse to drink now, there was nobody watching her every move. As she let herself drop into a nearby seat she didn’t even notice the other, head resting in her arms on the cold surface until their words irritated her enough to make the wolf look up, “Unless you’re lying when saying yes to getting me a beer, I really don’t care, have at it.” Her own hand waved in the air, barely raised before her head dropped again, dark hair covering even darker eyes.

the werewolf pulled a face at her words. “of course i don’t have a sophis— a good palate, all my taste buds were killed, there is none left. i’m doomed with the curse of not be able to taste anything anymore.” he stated, obviously going a little overdramatic and for a moment he was able to stop a laugh from escaping “i’m so upset.” but said moment was short lived as he found himself laughing. his brows furrowed at the mentition of cola. “…does it make this thing taste better? or are you just pulling my leg? tho, i think anything would make this taste better.”

She couldn’t help the laughing, really, if it had been anyone else other than Mason she was sure by now it would have earned her a punch, a black eye at least, but he seemed to tolerate her teasing much more than others in the pack. “Yes, well, kind of. It’ll weaken it a bit and add sweetness. Cmon, you’re the one who wanted to try it!” Standing, she crossed to find the bottle and hand it over, a softness to her smile that many didn’t see, “Fill the glass as full as you can, the more cola the less whiskey you can taste.”

Khylen grinned back. “Hey I’m not that out of shape, I’ve been training still, just no runes to help. But please don’t hold back, I want to go full out.” He had mixed feelings about going out in his wolf form, it would be the first time he hadn’t locked himself in Stella’s basement. But he could change now when he wanted to and he was getting restless. “Just make sure I’m still back there.” No matter how much he hated admitting weaknesses, he realized that being honest was the best thing to do in his situation.

Raven was strangely excited to have someone out on the run with her, there were occasions where the others joined her but mostly she ran alone, away from the pack so not to cause any strange wolfy fights. “Full out huh?” She had kicked her shoes off before she heard the next words, a soft smile growing even if she would never let him see it, “Don’t worry, if in doubt, head toward the creek, I might not remember the north coast much but I’m still definitely a water wolf.” Another look back and she raised a brow, almost challenging him, “You ready then? No runes, just wind in your fur.”

he has no complaints as she lifts him, body going limp as he gives a mournful look to the bar. as raven walks, the half seelie raises a hand, poking her in the back each time she takes a step. the moment she stops everett starts to squirm, trying to wriggle his way out of the werewolf’s grasp before the brunette goes slack again. he doesn’t bother to answer his question, it goes in one ear and out the other, rather he mumbles the one thing that’s been bothering him all this time.

There wasn’t a second thought to it, Raven knew that while Everett wasn’t entirely defenseless, she would defend him no matter what, even if that meant protecting him from himself. As she walked out the bar, hoping the cool night air would sober him enough she set the half seelie on the back of her bike, fingers running through his hair in a moment of softness before he speaks, and her heart stops almost entirely at his confession. It takes a minute to realize what exactly he was trying to say, but soon she was holding him close and stroking his hair, a quiet sigh escaping her, “I know Ev, I know. Want me to try and call him? We can have a movie night?”

“It’s not my fault your girl hasn’t come by in two days and whiskey is your new girlfriend, I’m only looking out for your health!’ She was trying her luck, but he had known that from the moment he gave her the job that she wasn’t gonna be boring to work with, but her grin grew as he agreed and she tossed the keys his way, “Thanks for, yknow, letting me take her out for a ride.” Raven wouldn’t have even dreamed of letting anyone touch her bike if it was as nice as his.

Raven laughed at the almost innocent face Mason gave her when he questioned her drink choices, shaking her head. She shrugged and lent back in the chair, “I think the awful taste is actually kinda nice, you obviously don’t have a sophisticated palette enough for good whiskey.” Trying to hold back her laugh as she looked at the cheap bottle, she bit down on her lip but the grin broke through, “I have cola if you wanna mix it.”
