karyanne indira maleck. cosmopolitan, resident of vesta. animal lover actress entrepreneure. 🌟 🌻 🌟 🌻 🌟 don't do friends, don't do love. i'm only after success; I know exactly what I want and who I wanna to be. I'm now becoming my own self-fulfilled prophecy.
“wait, i can’t speak...” karyanne rested her hand on the other person’s shoulder and attempted to catch her break from her performance. “i think i’m getting too old for that! my horoscope was right, something definitely left me breathless today.” she laughed with an apologetic shrug. “my bad, what were you saying?” @vestalanding
please note that ryan did not star in padmaavat (although after searching for gifs of this movie, i have a lot of regrets). i am still unsure whether the bollywood movie she did was yeh jawaani hai deewani or goliyon ki raasleela ram-leela. still! i can see her participating in the musical performances to entertain everyone around. she sang and danced to ghoomar. since ryan is probably the only one of my characters who would willingly partake in such an event (or worse! participate in its organization) so she went ALL in! this is a friendly reminder that renaissance is aesthetically pleasing but not universal to everybody (and not even to women so don't bother thinking about empires and kingdoms and countries). however! countries other than western europe are still as valid! thank you for coming to my ted talk and watch khalibali on youtube if you're in need of an energy boost. i apologize for anyone who bumped into ryan at the fair, she was living her full glorious extra life. <3
“are you ever listening?” ryan complained. “i was asking for your opinion about whether i should foster this new great dane we got at the shelter while i’m still watching over the small pomeranian siblings. i mean, there’s a slight height difference... but i’m taller than a lot of people i meet and no one got injured. yet.”
“Tell me, does this sound like my fault? So I got in trouble today with the mother I work for, because her sixteen year old daughter got into her expensive wine. I’m not even her nanny! I’m only supposed to watch her little boy.–I just don’t see how this is my fault.” @vestalanding
“kids.” karyanne sighed out loud, trying really hard not to roll her eyes. “they’re cute from a distance, but they always get into the worst kind of trouble you can imagine.” she added. “they should not be mad at you! if anything, the fact they are hiring you to babysit their son while they could just ask their daughter speaks volumes about her sense of responsability. i don’t see how this is your fault either. i’m really sorry this mother is not as sensible as us!”
located in the beautiful and luxurious lucina borough, ryan’s mansion was quite a project. unafraid of any challenges, small or big, ryan renovated this house with a team of talented architects as well as the best interior designers she could find. her first idea was to bring the spirit of the pacific beaches in michigan, but she quickly understood this house called for something more original. the house was finally completed earlier this year and she swore to herself she would never change a thing, except for the amount of decorative pillows on her bed and the puppy-proof fence around the staircases. she is not happy with it yet, her marathons of million dollar listing new york shave set the bar too high. rumour has it ryan serhant and fredrik eklund teamed up and helped her find this property, but you did not hear it from me. she also sees this place as a temporary solution to her ever-lasting need for escape and greater adventures. still, she vowed to make the most out of this safe haven and she succeeded.
warning: she’s rich. and extra. and extra rich.
the mansion offers both an extra floor and a wide basement as well as a giant backyard. the white exterior walls and touches of light wood ressemble the properties karyanne would see everyday while living in california. everything is planned and thought to offer maximum space and freedom. it is also thought to be easy to sell, because she most certainly does not plan on living the rest of her life here, in michigan and here, in a house she already outgrew.
when you walk in, after crossing the “u” shape driveway where you can find her white tesla parked in front of the house, you have to walk through an impressive entrance lobby lit by a cristal chandelier. if you dare open the wardrobe, you will find nothing but coats karyane rarely ever wears or unopened gifts from different makeup brands or business owners she helped. you will now enter a wide open area that traverses to the back wall of the mansion. in this quite liveless living room, you can crash on the large couches, watch the sunset from the massive bay windows or relax to the sound of the fireplace. you may leave the living room and walk into the kitchen. for someone who rarely ever cooks (she blames it on a lack of time when, truly, the issue is her lack of talent), the kitchen offers professional equipment and enough space to welcome family and friends for heartwarming celebrations and potlucks. right next to the kitchen, there is a large dining area. it is, more often than not, inoccupied unless the maleck family is spending time over. still on the ground floor, you can find a complete bathroom and a staircase that leads you to the upper floor and to the basement.
the basement is split into two different sections: a small apartment for guests and a vast playroom for when karyanne fosters animals from the shelter. there is also a storage room for everything that overflows in her beauty salon or in her garage. there is also a gym, although it becomes more of a dance reheasal hall than a place to run away from your problems on a treadmill. the basement is not completely under the ground, in fact, it benefits of some natural lighting during most of the day due to the windows located on every possible wall.
as for the floor upstairs, it was designed to look like a luxury hotel suite. there are two rooms and one master bedroom. one of the normal rooms has the purpose of welcoming ryan’s parents every once in a while. the second one was transformed into the dream walk-in with wall-to-wall cabinets, racks and storage as well as everything to offer the best possible beauty room. before finally reaching the final unit, you will find an open area that works as a smaller living room and as an office. it is only temporary, because ryan plans to have a solarium built right outside of the house to have the impression of always working outdoors which is her absolute favourite. there are two large bathrooms, one for the guest room and one for the centerpiece. the master bedroom is cozy and wide, offering the best spot to crash after a long day of arguing with reluctant professionals and stubborn clients.
there is a current theme when it comes to the mansion’s decoration. the walls are painted with muted and pale shades of white, gray, pink and beige. there are accent colours in every room, but they never really fight with each other. the recurring colours are dusty pink, burnt orange, rose gold and warm gray. there are plants placed at strategic spots that the housekeeper has to take care of.
as for the backyard, you are greeted by a beautiful view of vesta peak and a garden of vegetables and flowers. there is also a wide pool and a spa nearby.
johnnie was very pleasantly surprised when the one he asked seemed to be so knowledged about such a topic, this only inciting even more excitement in the man. adjusting the phone in his hand so it’d be easier for her to see if she wanted, he listened to her words carefully, immediately nixing the thought of a hamster from her heads up. “well if i’m being honest i have pretty much nothing to do for about half of the year,” he admitted earnestly. “but the other half i have to go cross country, which i wouldn’t mind bringing a pet along with me, so long as they don’t mind changes of scenery. but there i’m a bit busier between practice and games…” he trailed off, stopping once he realized he was rambling. pulling his attention back to the photos on his phone, his smile brightened once more. “there’s no one in particular, just cause there’s so many ones that look so sweet. is it normal for there to be so many pit bull mixes in shelters?” he wondered aloud, realizing after he said it that she likely didn’t know. “or, better question, if for when i do get busy, would it make sense to get two animals? so they can keep each other company? or is that just madness?” he felt silly for being so uneducated about pets, but for someone who never had one he had nothing to go off of.
she listened closely to all of the bits and pieces of information he was giving her. “cross country? that means hamsters are definitely out of the question. rulling in wheel is not the best preparation for cross country competitions. not that i would know, but i can only imagine.” the woman could not help but return a bright smile. his genuine interest and curiousity was warming her heart. “pit bulls, or anything somewhat related to them, have an unfair and terrible reputation. it almost all of the cases, they never live up to the expectations of being impulsive and violent dogs, but people are scared nonetheless. they require attention and training, not more than other dogs, but that’s a conversation no one is ready for.” she shrugged it off. “pitties have to be among my favorites. they are so loving and caring, and it breaks my heart every time someone brings their pit bulls to the shelter. oh, i must have forgotten to mention it, but i own the shelter in town. that could be good to know, so i’m not just some random lady telling you what to do!” she proceeded to clear her throat, as if to change the sudden darkness of their exchange. “i think this is a great idea! as long as the animals you adopt get along, this would be wonderful. they’ll feel less alone and always have a play buddy.” she sat caught herself clapping her hands out of excitement, a rare sight. “it is pure madness indeed, mostly if you’re inexperienced, but there are great resources for you out there. as long as you’re ready to put in twice the effort and buy twice more treats, i am only supportive of this project.”
moving back here, in vesta, was most definitely the biggest challenge i had ever faced. this, this is not my scenery. this is not where i belong. leaving all of that behind, all the dreams and goals and bigger projects to settle down in the middle of nowhere again was not the easiest. i seem to have succeeded, take it as you wish.
when i’m walking one of the dogs from the shelter, a lot of people compliment them instead of me. i don’t care one bit! that proves me people have great taste around here.
all i’m asking is for you to be interesting and ambitious. i don’t mean you need three phd’s in physics or to want to climb the everest mountain ten times in your life. if you make me want to fall asleep while we’re sharing a conversation or if your biggest dream is to eat flaming hot cheetos without staining your fingers from the dust, i’m not just turned off, i’m out of here and i’m blocking your number.
the unknown. i don’t mean not knowing where life has in store for me, i’ve proven myself to handle adaptation easily. i am terrified of being unknown. i want to make a difference, i want to be remembered. whether it’s for positive or negative reasons, i’d like to left my mark and the opposite completely terrifies me.
