Oh friday night, filled with promises of what it can truly be a good ending of a rather stressful week. Most people went for drinks on Fridays, probably hit the local pub, go to a nice restaurant and enjoy a fancy meal with friends and maybe your signficant other. Yes, that’s what most people did on to end the week. But not Emily Blunt. The British actress was with her headphones on, humming to a Van Morrison song, while she pushed her shopping car through the isles of her favorite supermarket in Brooklyn, where she currently resided.

Deciding to make this a even more enjoyable experience, Emily grabbed a bag of crisps from one of the isles she was currently visiting. And just when she made the attempt to open the bag, she let go of her shopping cart which ended up rollowing down the isle, until it bumped against someone else’s. “Oh my god.” Emily could already feel how her cheeks were getting flushed as she began to approach the other person to assess the damage and make sure that no one got injured. But the moment she saw who the other person was, she stopped dead in her tracks. And dramatically enough, she even dropped her bag of crips on the floor. Was it too late to make a run for it? Fake demencia and just slowly turn around and get herself of that embarrassing encounter. But instead her mouth spoke before giving her the chance to do anything else. “What are you doing in Brooklyn?” Said the girl, cocking her head to one side. Ever since that night in which Ryan and her had taken upon themselves to play silly drinking games which had ended up with them hooking up. She couldn’t even look at him, and had been avoiding him ever since. But it seemed like life constantly had other plans for her, this being the prime example.

For the first Friday in quite some time, Ryan wasn’t with Inez and James and if he was being completely honest -- it felt quite strange. Especially when it came to grocery shopping. Just hearing the sounds of his daughter shouting or pleading for an item on the shelves was something that he had grown accustomed to, but now when shopping alone it just felt eerily quiet. “What did I need...what did I need..”the actor quietly muttered to himself, tapping his fingertips against his lips as she studied all available options on the shelf. Why was he so out of his head? you would think with this silence he could actually focus for once. “Well if I get the--” Suddenly there was a loud, abrupt sound of a crashing cart. Sending Ryan nearly out of his skin as he jolted and quickly turned his attention towards the sound in which it had come from. “Jesus Christ--!” he exclaimed, raising a quick hand to his chest as he exhaled slow. Raising his gaze now to get a glimpse of who's runaway cart this had been, he instantly felt his stomach drop. Of course, of all people for this to be it had to be Emily. “I’m...grocery shopping!” The actor exclaimed in response, his hand gesturing towards the aisle as if words were failing him. What more was there to say? Was he making this awkward already? “I got the weekend to myself so I’ve just been...doing grown up stuff.”he swallowed thickly, clearing his throat before adjusting the glasses that sat at the bridge of his nose. “How... about you? Just...throwing carts at people now I’m guessing?” This is what Ryan did when he was nervous, he rambled. Rambled until he dug himself a small hole to hide inside of. It’s just what he did best, he made jokes whenever he felt his anxiety spike. In this case, it was at an all time high. He hadn’t seen Emily since that night.
