“Do you want to?” Zachary asked, looking at his younger brother. “I’ll back you up, if you want. Hell, I’ll even do the paperwork for you.”
This could’ve been training of some sort for Ryder so without a second thought, he nodded, his hand readying over his wand. “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”
ianfielding:
“Freedom? What’s freedo- Oh! I vaguely remember that, had it about thirty years ago… Oh, how nice it was,” he teased. “But seriously, we both know you’ll get there, and once your training is complete, you can work with Zach and I can get the hell out of there.”
Ryder laughed. “Poor you, then. Because you will never ever get freedom again. You’re stuck with us forever.” His gaze dropped to his hands; it was no joke that the youngest Fielding was struggling the slightest in the classes he needed to succeed in to become an auror. But his father didn’t have to know that. “What will you do if I took your place? You’re too young to retire anytime soon, dad.”
ianfielding:
“That’s because he’s still attached to me at the hip,” Ian chuckled. “I can’t go 24 hours without seeing him most of the time. You just have the disadvantage of school.”
“Look, dad. If I end up actually being successful in my path to becoming an auror, you’re gonna have both me and Zach attached to your hip. So enjoy your freedom while you can.”
valcarter:
“Oh, do you? So you have some on you now? Mind sharing?” Valerie rolled her eyes. “Yeah, I’m actually thinking I might invest in a spare roll just for times like this.”
He gave her a cheeky smile. “I do mind sharing and as a lesson, you’re gonna have to deal with me as I am, Val. But come on, I’m not that bad, am I?”
benjosephs:
“Yeah. Well. I told you, so you didn’t have to guess.”
“So since you did it on purpose, I take it that you don’t need my help in making sure no one else sees what’s blessed the back of your pants?”
harryjacobs:
“Alright, how about money? Keep things simple.”
“How much are we talking? Just a quick question because I don’t really work so my funds are a little limited.”
harryjacobs:
“Depends. What’re we betting?”
“We can bet on whatever your little Pukwudgie heart desires.”
valcarter:
Valerie stared at him. “Seriously? ‘Make me’? How do you suggest I do that? Because unfortunately, I forgot my duct tape.”
“Really? You monster. I always come quipped with duct tape. You never know when you’ll actually need it. Bet you’re regretting not bringing it now, aren’t you?”
aravelline-jane:
“Yeah… thank god it’s not nargles.” She added, drawing out the first word and looking around at anything but him. “And a summoning spell would be pretty useless given I don’t know where it is, you’re right. I’m pretty sure I put it on my trunk, took a nap, and woke up to get dressed. Only it’s not on my trunk.”
He let out a tiny sigh, chewing on the inside of his cheek. “Wow. This is a hard one. Maybe it fell off and rolled somewhere?” Ryder suggested mid-shrug. “Mind if I look around as well? Through your-- uh-- room?”
zacharyfielding:
“Right,” Zachary paused for a moment, a sigh escaping his lips. “Pretty sure that was illegal.”
Ryder looked down at his body - almost as if he were sizing himself up - and gave his older brother a sheepish smile. “Did... did you want me to deal with it?”
rebekahholiday:
“Alright, have a look in the Orb, through the fog, and tell me what you see. Remember, there are no wrong answers here…” Rebekah spoke in a soft voice, standing near the person, her eyes on the crystal ball in front of them.
It was as if concentrating harder threatened to give him a migraine. “Ugh--” he groaned. “I can’t-- nothing. I. See. Nothing. Look, maybe I’m just not meant for this.”
harryjacobs:
“Okay, yeah yeah, congrats Wampus, whatever. Quadpot is gonna be Pukwudgie’s game, though.”
“You wanna bet?”
valcarter:
“I definitely asked you first.”
“If you really want me to shut up, then make me.”
clarygooding:
“Have you ever worn skinny jeans?” she questioned.
His eyes narrowed. “......yes. I didn’t have to jump into them, though. But I did have to go through a lot of pulling up and cussing... and ripping--” Ryder shivered. “Never again.”
ianfielding:
“Oh well, as long as you’ll be coming to my rescue,” Ian laughed. “Because, Merlin knows, I couldn’t cope with being yelled at otherwise.”
“You can always count on me to come to your rescue,” he beamed. “Right after Zach-- you know-- he always tends to get to things before I do. But you know what people say; they always save the best for last.”
ianfielding:
“You might be in more trouble than me, I mean I might get yelled at, you might get detention. No one can give me detention anymore.”
“The last thing I want to see is you getting yelled at, dad. Detention, I can deal with. But you getting yelled at? Absolutely not. I might start yelling back.”
ianfielding:
“Now there’s an idea I could get behind. Just a nice, quick, 6 hours or so.”
"A nice quick six hours? If that’s the case, I’ll end up sleeping as well. And then we’ll both be in trouble.”
