Hello! I’m Ryn (they/them) and this will be an odd little blog—something between a workblr, studyblr, and posts of notes I make on topics like research for work, studying for my licensing exam, preparing to apply to doctoral programs, and trying to be productive while being chronically ill. I will be following via my main writeblr @ryns-ramblings (feel free to check it out)!
I am a 30+ queer and neurodivergent therapist in my day job, but for fun I also write fantasy stories (but am currently unpublished) and fanfics. I specialize in working with queer and trans neurodivergent clients in New York City so this will be a blog openly oriented towards social justice and topics in that vein. I am still in training, but I will be done soon and thus need to take my licensing exam. Once I am fully licensed I plan to get into a doctoral program in order to do asexuality and aromantic-affirming research as what we have currently is embarrassingly lacking.
Topics of Interest:
Mental Health & Psychology
Gender and Sexuality
Autism & ADHD
Productivity (especially within my confines of being disabled physically and neurologically)
Mental health as it relates to chronic pain and fatigue
Personal Knowledge Management (hit me up if you’re a fan of Obsidian!)
Prepping for taking the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE)
Writing and publishing fiction (crossing over with my writeblr @ryns-ramblings
This is, however, not an exhaustive list.
