Do you want to be told you’re a genius by M.I.T.? A life where you sign your soul over to math doesn’t seem like you. I get that, I think. I don’t really feel ready for whatever’s next, but maybe it just feels scary because I don’t know what it is yet. They do? That seems like such a weird compliment. Like, would you actually be excited right now if I told you you were very strong and muscle-y, Ryder Lynn? Maybe you have been living in a cave! I don’t know what redecorating you could have done in the past couple of years. You’ve always got me and Unique to help you if she does that, don’t worry.

I like Jane a lot! I think she’s a great addition to the team. I’ve met a few other people that could maybe be great people to bring in, but… I don’t know if they’d listen to somebody like me. Maybe you could try talking to them? Hopefully Sam will help make her a name chart or something. It’s good to have him around as a familiar face at least.

Uh, yeah. I don’t want to sign my life over to math but having someone come up and tell me I’m a genius would be nice. Well I’m like 100% sure that it’s going to involve you selling a bajillion multi platinum albums, but that’s just me. Uh...yeah, yeah that’d do it. I mean you lift weights and you work out...it’s nice to have people recognize that. My room’s not that bad! Thank god, I’m gonna need all the help I can get. 

I haven’t really talked with her a lot, but she definitely seems cool. Someone like you? Marley come on, you’re amazing, Who are the people though? Yeah, it really is, it’d feel really weird if it was just Rachel here

Yeah, but it’s not nationally recognized as a sport and that grinds my gears to infinity and beyond. It’s odd and I’m just as baffled as you are.

McKinley treats it more as a sport than most of the US population. Like I said, illegal.

Maybe it’s because it’s like...mostly a girl thing? I mean girls basketball is a sport but it seems like no one really watches it. 

I mean I guess it makes sense. The performances are all really cool, but it’s kind of a weird situation when the whole point of cheerleading is to cheer on other sports. It’s stuck in some weird semi sport limbo.

Unique: Okay. Really? How could they not like that performance? It was such a safe choice. Isn't Eye of the Tiger the anthem of every boy who's picked up a ball or thrown a punch?

Ryder: They're just being dicks. Pretty much yeah, which is why I picked it because I thought it might inspire more guys to join the club, but I guess it didn't work as well as I wanted it to. Some guys said it was cool, but they didn't seem interested so I guess it was kind of a flop.

I guess so, although I can’t imagine I’d want to just up and leave during my senior year like Britt did, you know? I’m already going to miss my friends and glee club and my mom next year, I don’t really get the rush. Maybe you’d do better somewhere where you get an interview? So that it feels more personal and less like you’re just a piece of paper being judged? Oh! Oh no, I didn’t know that. Now I feel really bad — do you think I should tell him he’s, um…big and muscley or something? In Hairspray? Yes! And Queen Latifah, and John Travolta, and Christopher Walken, and Brittany Snow, and honestly, Ryder, we really need to work on your musical education if you’re going to be in a glee club coached by a Broadway star! I like how you think! But I’d like it better if she was still doing her advice column from All That.

Maybe they just need time? If they see we’re all in it and having fun, they might want to come back, too. Ryder, you’re amazing! There’s no way they wouldn’t want you around. Glee club isn’t about being Broadway good… we won plenty of competitions with totally not-Broadway songs, didn’t we? I don’t think she knows my name either, just no one asked her who I was. You were just the unlucky Rick Lynn!

Me neither, but then I’ve never been told i’m a genius by MIT, so who knows? I just don’t think I’m ready. Like...I am, but I’m not? That make sense? An interview? Yeah...that’d be cool, I could do an interview. Sure. I mean I don’t know if it would help, but every guy likes being called muscley. Whoa, I feel like I’ve been living under a cave! Don’t get me started, I’m scared she’s gonna make us do musical theater stuff all the time and I’m gonna be totally lost. 

Yeah..maybe, I hope so. Feels weird not having them in the choir room. I mean the new girl is cool but it’s just weird. Yeah but that was with Mr. Schue and Finn, not Rachel. I don’t think she knows any of us. Not really. I mean we heard all about her but she never really met any of us.

Anyone else feel as if cheerleading should be considered a sport? There are honestly people out there that don’t believe it should be recognized as a sport when we do a ton of work and do a lot more work-outs and exercises that people seem to not put into consideration. It’s baffling.

Wait, cheerleading’s not a sport? Don’t you guys go to international competitions and stuff? Because that sounds pretty sporty to me. 

Especially since Principal Sue has like a billion trophies from them.

Dude, it’s always “back for good” until it’s not. Nothing in this school is permanent, especially not with Sue at the helm. Dude, I totally get that. Like, I’m not ragging on you for joining again - I would probably consider it, if I had the time. I just have to focus on not failing and making myself look good enough outside of dancing for colleges to want me. Can’t really be a one trick pony all my life.

Okay fine, maybe it won’t be here for the rest of the year, but it’s still fun dude. I mean come on, you can’t tell me you haven’t wanted just one more day of Glee Club before. You’re not a one trick pony. I mean you can dance, you can sing, you can play basketball, see that’s three tricks right there.

Don’t even get me started on those slushies. Even though I don’t eat them ‘cause they’re pretty much a one way ticket to being fat, it’s still a freaking waste.

Didn’t know what for sure? That I’m a gay dude? No worries, man, I like not seemingly like one ‘cause not only is the world a sitty place where some idiots still judge people for it, but I’m that dreamy frat guy dudes would kill for. Lady Gaga? Can’t say I’m really that big of a fan but I bet that whole drama was hilarious.

It’s like getting slapped by a snowman dude, it’s the worst. Plus the coloring stuff stains, one time my chest was purple for like two days and my mom wanted me to go to the hospital because she thought I got hit by a car or something.

Yeah. I mean no offense or anything, but the only two gay guys I know were pretty obvious about it. Right, no, that totally makes sense. It was crazy, Sam made it into this huge production, but it was loads of fun. At least I didn’t look like Blaine, he went full on Blair Witch.

Unique: Maybe you could join to spice things up though? You slayed with that whole Eye of the Tiger performance. I feel like I should have expected that song choice, but it came as a total surprise.

Unique: Hmm, I guess that could be it. And I'll take that as a compliment. :)

Ryder: I'll think about it, okay? Really? Thanks! I mean I thought I slayed, but I got some mixed reviews afterwards. I haven't been hit with a slushie yet though, so I'm calling it a win.

Totally. Don’t even get me started on the rest of the team thinking they’re all that just ‘cause they can kick a ball without punching themselves in the face. Bunch of idiots

All I know is that it was all up to that gay kid that graduated a few years back. Unfortunately, everyone thinks I happen to know him just ‘cause we’re both into dick. Weird. I have to say though, I don’t think I would mind the dress up thing. Everyone loves Halloween.

It’s always been like that. I heard it was way worse before i got here though, the slushy tossing has gone way down, but they’re still a bunch of jerks. 

Oh, you mean Kurt? Yeah I guess I can see that. Oh-- Really? I had no idea. I mean- I’d heard some stuff, but I didn’t know for sure. Well there’s tons of it in Glee. One time we did this Lady Gaga thing and I had to wear this weird half dress cloaky thing...I don’t even know how to describe it.

[Performed in the cafeteria during lunchtime with the help of the band. Ryder starts on drums but eventually moves to focus solely on vocals towards the middle when he really gets into it, even doing a little touchdown dance to go with the performance.]

Unique: That's true, you did have a supporting cast and in Glee you usually had back up. But we all know you can do it, you were just never given a chance for some reason. Low-key swooning...sounds pretty dull if you ask me. I prefer the dramatic hand tho the forehead, graceful fall to the floor type of swooning myself.

Ryder: Just trust me, they're all about singing hymns and Christmas songs instead of anything fun. Makes it kind of a let down after show choir.

Ryder: Maybe that reason is that I'm more of a team player than a solo act. Yeah I figured, you are the reigning Queen of drama after all :P

Unique: Oh, yeah, I didn't think of that. Well, you're on the football team so I'm betting people already respect you. You starred in Grease and the show did pretty well, so we all know you have the talent, charisma, and stage presence to hold an audience's attention. Whatever you end up doing, I'm sure you'll have the girls swooning and the guys...doing whatever it is they do when they're impressed.

Ryder: I think that's more of a Catholic church thing.

Ryder: Okay that's awesome [Thumbs up emoticon]

Ryder: Okay, those are two really good points. Though to be fair, Marley and everyone else was with me the whole time. I didn't get up in the middle of the courtyard and solo it out. Oh guys swoon, they're just super low-key about it.

Unique: Well...I was pretty fabulous, wasn't I? It's not a competition though. I'm sure you'll come up with something that's uniquely you and you'll blow everyone away in your own way. You're so incredibly talented. So don't underestimate yourself.

Ryder: Did you just make your name an adjective or was that a happy accident?

Ryder: I dunno, I just want to do something really awesome you know? I mean I'm the only dude on the team, I gotta step up if we're gonna get some more.

Unique: I wish I could say it was my idea, but it was done before by one of the greats. Rumor has it she has a backup choir on speed dial for just such occasions.

Unique: As for me, I just begged my church choir director to help me out.

Unique: How about you though? You decide on a song yet?

Ryder: Lucky. My church choir is just a bunch of 12 year olds, no where near as epic.

Ryder: Uh...yeah? I mean it took me forever but I think I finally found a good one. I was just gonna sing it in the choir room but then you put on the epic show in the courtyard and I'm pretty sure I can't top that :P

Right...well, at least you have your dickness sorted out? I’ve known plenty of dicks who are just 24/7 dickitude so at least you’re trying. 

Yeah! It was a pretty genius move, the other guys never saw it coming. I never knew it was like a Glee Club thing though, I just thought the Coach just had a really good play. Oh! The zombie one was freaking awesome! I’m still jealous we never got to do something like that.

Yeah, I remember. I dunno, though. There’s just so much other stuff to think about. Glee doesn’t really seem like a priority anymore. And for all we know, it’s gonna get ripped away again. So why bother?

And what if it doesn’t? I mean Rachel got it reinstated and no one thought that was gonna happen, so maybe it’s back for good? It’s just...okay like you’re definitely gonna end up at Juliard or NYADA or somewhere you can show off your crazy dance move, but..I dunno, this might be my last chance to perform and do all of this stuff. I just don’t want to leave here feeling like I missed out on something I really liked because I was too scared of losing it again.
