Hiatus from Outlander is grand - it’s pretty long because we only shoot for a handful of episodes each season. I’ll be right over, love, I’m bringing a Christmas Scotch, too.

I like it! I think I have a love-hate relationship with hiatus season - I love having the time off but I miss everybody so much. I’ll get the leftovers warmed up! Oh, that’s a fabulous Christmas gift if there ever was one - I’ll break out the glasses!

I don’t know if I can live up to that absolute angel, but I sure do try my best! I completely understand - she wouldn’t be living up to the reputation if she didn’t keep everybody fat and happy! I had an incredible holiday! How was everybody in the Dallas household?

It must be true, what they say about all of these small towns, everyone seems to be very friendly. Does everyone know one another, too?? And most likely has. He has been looking forward to moving here today and has probably gone off to do some shopping— or to find a new favorite restaurant. And that’s very true— that’s funny. It’s very good to meet you, Bellamy! How long have you been in Royal?

Of course, of course! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. Everyone is so friendly, it’s unbelievable. Everybody seems to run into each other one way or another - and everybody’s so good about welcoming each other. It’s the best. I don’t blame him! There’s a lot to do in that arena. Oh, it hasn’t been too long - maybe a month or two. It’s been great.

A Few Of My Favorite Things ||Bellamy and Arthur

Work breaks were always an odd thing to deal with, and normally he wasn’t concerned with them as he tended to have to travel back to London for some other project during said breaks but this year, he was going to make an effort to take it a bit easier and enjoy the holidays and so far he had been pretty faithful to that, hence the decorating and baking for Christmas.

Arthur couldn’t help laughing when he read the reply to his snickerdoodle comment. He was fairly certain that Bellamy was thinking he meant regular snickerdoodle cookies and he wasn’t opposed to making the original thing, but he also had a bit of a twist in mind for them as well.

He’d had a girlfriend years ago that had loved to bake Christmas goodies. She had seen it as a great time to experiment with new flavours and recipes and she had made a batch of cookies that had cinnamon in them. He had been a bit wary to try them but once he had, he was hooked and when they had ended things, he had asked her for the recipe, since he had always tended to be able to stay on good terms with her and she had given him that. He had been making them that way ever since.

He heard the knock at the door as he was pulling one of the aprons on over his head and he rushed to open it for her so she wouldn’t be standing there for long, grinning when he saw her face. “Hey you” he gave her a quick hug before stepping aside and opening the door a bit more for her to step inside. “Come in come in. Ready to have a bit of fun?” He asked her as he closed it behind them and locked it.

Although work kept her busy, it would make her an idiot not to be grateful. For her, success had come late in her career; up until now, she’d always made just enough on guest starring and recurring roles to pay the bills. She certainly wasn’t going to take her success now for granted; success was never guaranteed, and it wasn’t going to last forever. She was going to enjoy it while she could.

She’d been baking for almost as long as she could remember. Her mother, to this day, was always whipping something up when the holidays began to roll around. She’d always found it relaxing; it was an easy way to take one’s mind off of things.

A grin overcame the actress’s features as the door opened in front of her, and in true Southern fashion, she immediately dove in for a hug. “Hello, sir!” Bellamy quipped, stepping inside as soon as he gave her the green light. “Absolutely! It’s so good to see you.” She gave a full turn to examine the place. “Wow - you picked up a great place! This is beautiful.”
