fixer.usa: Shot on 16mm film for @/bbhblacksheep, this music video series for @/thelastshadowpuppets was a true standout project. Directed by @/saamfarahmand and shot by the legendary Chung-hoon Chung @/chung615 (of Oldboy, 2003 fame), we filmed on Malibu's iconic Westward Beach-the same stretch of sand from the ending of Planet of the Apes.

In a unique twist, we literally buried the band members in the sand, creating hidden spaces for them with safety measures in place so they could pop out if the tide came in. The musicians were incredibly game, making the whole shoot a blast.

Originally shot as a single Steadicam one-take, the final cut evolved, but the fluidity of that original approach still shines through. Plus, navigating permits and logistics for a beach shoot in LA was smooth sailing, just another day making movie magic by the ocean.
