it’s interesting that Teruhashi never actually displays physical attraction to saiki (or anyone actually but i digress), but displays a fuck ton of intellectual attraction to him. and like its not just a oh pretty girl falls for the slightly below average guy bc audience inserts or whatever, cause we know Saiki is considered quite physically attractive (as seen by takashi and his friends, toritsuka, chiyo, and iirc aiura) but whenever teruhashi is thinking about him romantically its solely about how she likes to be around him, and how he makes things more enjoyable just by being there.

idk if that makes sense, like she definitely is into him, she expresses desire to kiss and hold him and be near him throughout the show but compared to someone like Chiyo where shes fantasizing about physical features he has, or when characters call him “pretty” or “handsome”, I dont think we really see teruhashi do that? if that makes sense? Even Imu in her intense comphet comments something like “was he always this good looking?” when she thinks he wants to go out with her.

Meanwhile even when Teruhashis feelings turn from just wanting to prove a point to genuinely liking him, I cant remember her ever commenting on his physical appearance. I domt really know where im going with this but its interesting

i love this scene because it perfectly encapsulates how weak kusuo is for his friends

like he doesn’t have to go on the trip, just like he doesn’t have to go out for ramen with nendou whenever he asks or like he doesn’t have to pick between nendou and kaidou’s awful clothing choices and like how he doesn’t have to choose clothes for teruhashi to buy or like he doesn’t have to get a motorcycle licence with kaidou and kuboyasu. he didn’t have to spend his whole spring break at a boot camp with hairo or participate in a mildly shady human trial with mera. he could have said a firm “no, i don’t want to.” and they would have accepted it, but he’s just that soft with them. he could have backed out from all these things at any time, but he doesn’t want to hurt their feelings, doesn’t want to put them in danger, doesn’t want to see them hurt. he loves them, no matter how much he acts like a tsundere and no matter how much he pretends they’re a bother.
