however!! i did decide that i wanted to start fresh after what felt like such a long hiatus, so i’m posting this here to let y’all know that i’m moving blogs!! i’ll be leaving this one up as an archive of sorts, but otherwise this blog’ll be permanently inactive.

i’ve been talking about this for a week or two now at this point (and thinking about it even longer), but i am finally adding him to my list officially!! so without further ado, i’m super excited to introduce axl from the mega man x series as my second romantic f/o!! good gifs and such of him are,,,honestly hard to find, unsurprisingly, so i have a banner i made for him up above!!
this isn’t the first time i’ve self shipped with him, but given that i don’t remember when i started the first time, i’m setting our anniversary as today, february 20th, since it’s the day i officially f/o-d him!! he means a lot to me, but i’ll be going into that as more of a gush under the cut.

so axl was actually the first character that i ever openly self shipped with, and the second character i ever fell for, way back in 7th grade!! i’ve been into the mega man series since i was little, but that was the first time i ever developed feelings for a character from the franchise. i think it was more from seeing a lot of the fan content people made for him, as he only debuted in x7, the second-to-last game which is,,,,not the best,,,,yet somehow i watched playthroughs of it and x8 over and over and over again for him.
unfortunately, there was this person in my life at the time who tended to make fun of me for it, and though i certainly didn’t stop, i can’t say that it didn’t affect me. i think it’s the reason that, through most of high school, i took a break from self shipping, because i was scared of being judged or looked down on for it. of course, i clearly don’t think that now, and i feel like finding this community has really helped me to feel comfy with it and myself again. so thank you all so much for that!! and now that i’ve found my confidence again, i think that’s why i find myself coming back to him once again.
despite the little development the game devs gave him in the last two installments, i loved seeing his character grow over the course of the series!! he may have been immature and cocky at the start (he still kind of is, honestly), but i’ve always just felt that there’s something about him that made me wanna cheer him on. he’s always making me smile or laugh for whatever reason, and i’m super happy i’m reuniting with him once again!!
