EVEN SHE IS INCAPABLE OF fending off the fond smile that comes from the memories they share, of days long ago when the man himself had managed to join their ranks. albeit being among the more secretive branch of blackwatch amidst the organization itself, they were still comrades who spent their time together during his recovery and assessments. even then, the woman herself has never been supportive of how her superiors wished to optimize the warrior himself for their own means, weaponizing him far beyond what her original intervention was meant for. ❝ After what you went through, I don’t blame you wanting to avoid me. It is rather shocking to wake up to and absorb mentally, ❞ she comments, shaking her head slightly at the thoughts.
hearing about his other half, however, only continues to keep a smile upon her face as she motions for the other to sit where she can begin to examine what was necessary as they speak. ❝ I have no doubts on that. I take it she is a kind soul also. Well, at least I know what to get her come the holidays, ❞ she chuckles gently at the thought of getting the woman some form of delicacy, peeking briefly at an area on his armour.
❝ I’m just glad there was nothing else damaged, ❞ the comment itself brimming with relief that the cyborg ninja had come out of whatever incident had occurred alive. ❝ You know, you never DID tell me exactly how it got damaged in the first place. ❞ some form of scuffle she could only presume, though for with who was another story entirely.
A quiet nod followed Angela’s words, Genji silently agreeing with her. Indeed, it was an ordeal unlike any he had ever faced, lasting the cyborg many years of brooding, anger, frustration and uncertainty. The latter made him leave the very organization that saved his life, although in hindsight, it might have been a blessing in disguise, ultimately, considering what became of Overwatch shortly after. “But it has helped me become who I am. And for that, I will always be thankful for everything that Overwatch has done for me--” He looked at the good doctor, nodding with conviction once more before continuing. “For everything you have done for me. I owe my life to that.”
As their conversation shifted to his other half, the cyborg couldn’t help but chuckle lightly at the thought of Angela bringing Din some treats. “Careful, you might spoil her. I could have used your help when she got a tummy ache some time ago from eating too much. Ah, but do not worry. She’s mindful of it now, though I suppose some pastries would be alright.” Or any kind of food, for that matter. Din had a taste for everything, it would seem.
Though, as the doctor’s curiosity is now piqued by his unfortunate assailant not too long ago, Genji couldn’t help but return to silence, contemplating on whether or not he should tell her just who it was exactly that attacked him. For a while, he pried his eyes off of Angela, his visor pointed down at his feet. Telling her that it was none other than his former Blackwatch commander, Gabriel Reyes, was the one that attacked him on that day, would upset her, no doubt.
“...A broken man, twisted by grudge,” he answered, albeit vaguely and cryptically, purposely hiding the vengeful man’s identity from her. For now, at least.
