the chief and the scion

“By the Twelve this can’t be all real…” His disbelief is wholly overshadowed by the reality before him. A sprawling city, the likes of which he’d never seen before, dwarfing even the three city states of Eorzea. Spires and buildings as far as the eye can see. It was all so intimidating, enough to stun the young elezen in place as he gawked in awe and equal parts dread.
He thought back to the white room; how he woke up confused and dazed, with nothing on him but a book of poetry and meager amounts of aether, enough only for basic magicks. He couldn’t believe it, still wouldn’t, and yet, here he was, in a foreign land far away from home and from his friends. He would have panicked, had it not been for his steeled resolve. It took him a few moments to gather himself, but he wouldn’t waste time no more.
“Pardon…!” Alphinaud called out, spotting someone from the corner of his eye, reaching out to them with his words. A young girl with dark skin and flaming red hair. He hoped she was a local or at the very least, someone who knew enough about this city. “Pray forgive my haste my lady, but I must know: is this all real? Am I not in some mad, conjured dream?”
♕ TURNING at her own leisure at the sudden exclamation during her walk throughout the city, the chief’s emerald hues soon catch sight of the one who has called out to her. Regarding the stranger with a curious stare, Riju takes a moment to scrutinize him before offering any sort of response to his inquiries.
With his ears and manner of dressing himself, the boy briefly reminds the girl of the Hylian nobles she had heard of and briefly seen in some pictures. Though, she can’t help but wonder if that’s truly the case, for the nobles have been scarcely heard from, if ever, since the tragedy starting a hundred years ago. Still, the redhead regards the other with a curious look, tilting her chin up before speaking to him at last.
❝ Oh my; aren’t you the formal one? ❞ she teases lightly, soon humming in thought for a moment shortly after.
❝ But unfortunately, no, this isn’t some dream and is quite real. Would you like me to pinch you to convey that? ❞
