grand march ||ăblyr+cmră
ryxriah:
She doesnât miss the tune. Riahâs ears catching the first note immediately. Her head turning in the direction to where the sound originates. She spots a woman by the piano. Riah able to feel her heart twist in a sort of bittersweet agony. Her fingers twitch, playing along in tandem to the notes. Sheâs a classically trained pianist. She knows the scales in her sleep.
Like a sirenâs call, Riah is lured across the room. Softly humming the pitch of scales. Her voice melodious in a way that causes others to notice. The performer in her has never really died. More like buried under repressed feelings and responsibilities. âItâs a lovely song.â Riah states finally at the womanâs performance. âDebussy, if I am correct.â She is. Riah knows her music. All things classical and jazz. âDo you mind if I join you?â
the lady-in-waiting smiled a bit as she played. among her siblings, she was the most talented in music. whenever her father would scold her or pour his attention to her brother, miran would use the piano as a venting tool when she was younger. due to the fact, that maybe certain musical pieces allowed her to bang on the keys. miran stopped playing for a moment when the other asked to join her. it was her first time seeing this woman around. perhaps she was an ambassador to one of the other royals.
â yes, itâs it is. â she said, â i wouldnât mind if you joined. â miran shook her head, not minding at all. â perhaps you know of a four hand piece? â she in turned added, â that we can play together. i know a few, but itâs not quite my forte. â the brunette was used to playing musical pieces by herself, but maybe having a four hand piece would be a change. she sat more to her right, making room for the other to join.Â

â nightmares. nightmares. i donât get them as often as most people do, but when i do, i would often walk around the mansion a bit before falling back to sleep. personally i know they arenât real. they are just a figment of my imagination, but sometimes when they do feel real, itâs quite scary. â

â i like to transcribe my favorite songs into piano pieces. it is quite difficult, but it is a lot of fun. one of my favorites is called if ~hitori omou~, which roughtly translates to if ~oneâs thoughts~. itâs actually in the key of d flat; however, iâve heard other people arranged it in the key of e or f major. i suppose no one will ever know the songâs original key, but the composers.â

@ryxriahâ
the lady-in-waiting had managed to find her crown princess. miran quickly had some small talk with before leaving the princess to her guests. she, on the other hand, began walking down to the lobby since the grand hall was starting getting a little too crowded. as she strolled out the doors, miran looked towards the grand piano that was sitting there. the woman went up to it and placed her hand over the white keys just above middle c.
miran then pressed the g key with her finger. luck for her, it was in tune. she moved on to click on the rest of the c major keys, testing if it was off-key or not. once she was satisfied with it, miran sat down in the chair, knocking soft pedal down (so it wouldnât be loud and attract the nearby bystanders), and placed her hands in key of e and began playing debussyâs arabesque no. 1. the brunette loved playing classical music as a child, it was probably the one habit she kept with her before she left her family.
sweet times ||ăcmh+cmră
@ryminhee
there was one places that miran loved above all in seoul. an old bakery she used to go to before she left the city. the brunette loved their baked sweets most of all. she even remembered being friendly with the ownerâs granddaughter. however, miran couldnât remember the girlâs name. itâs been more than ten years. if she had recalled, the girl was about eight or nine when miran was sixteen.Â
the lady-in-waiting stared at the shop sign for a moment before walking in. the scent of fresh baked treats flowed in every corner. even the cake display had wonderful tarts and cake slices. miran looked around the place for a moment, reminiscing on the memory. she was also looking at the different types of bread that they had. the woman wondered if they still had custard bun. that was her favorite from this place.
miran then moved on to the cake display. she bent down with her hands on her knees to support her body as she looked at the cakes. â hmm... â she hummed, thinking about which one to get. â so many choices... â she mumbled quietly to herself as she stood back up.

ryjaewon:
at some point in the night, jaewon realizes heâs lost yena. he knows heâs certainly gotten up from his own chair a few times and left her standing alone more than once, which might have been rude, but he always tries to do it as courteous as possible, always tries to make sure sheâs in good company or among friends. he doesnât mean to be away from her side so much, actually when theyâd first showed up together, he had intended to stick to her like glue, but he is ever the social butterfly and there are so many people around that he feels he must make nice to.
except now heâs lost his date for the night; he hopes she hasnât gone home. he searches calmly through the ballroom, meandering around the crowds of royalty and into a few of the back rooms, but still nothing. he has to save face and not look like heâs stressed about it, so heâs been plastering a smile on his face all night but after a few minutes on his own, the grin fades away from his lips and his eyes. itâs not so much that heâs worriedâ because of course he isnâtâ but he doesnât like not being in on the know about where everyone is. his god-complex is too hefty for him not to want to find her just so that he knows.
itâs during this hunt that he turns a corner and spots a different face, almost unrecognizableâ almost. it startles him and he has to blink hard a few times to be sure sheâs not a mirage standing there in the hallway in front of him, but he has no reason to be hallucinating this. sheâs different than the last time he saw her, but her features are the same and it strikes him how well he remembers every curve and angle of her face, every pitch of her voice, the way the sunlight had glinted off her hair that one afternoon in the courtyardâ from over ten years ago. âmiranâŠ? oh my god.. is that you?â
â no, iâm fine. thank you for asking. â miran said, with a smile, as she turned down the waiter that was holding a tray full of champagne flutes. she didnât feel like drinking tonight, perhaps she wanted to stay sober in case she ran into trouble. when the waiter left, the lady-in-waiting was just about to continue her search when she heard someone speak her name. soon miran laid her eyes on a male she knew very well. it was already too late to turn away now. it was obvious by the look on the otherâs face, he knew who she was. it could only mean that there was only two things miran can do; talk or run. however; she found the latter to be very rude on her part, so miran decided to speak with the prince.
the woman stood there, thinking. she only let a few moments passed by before she took the first step towards the crown prince. in honestly, miran was constantly keeping her emotions in check since tears never truly suited her. how was she going to explain her sudden disappearance from the yang royal court? a part of her felt guilty for leaving. however, these past ten years were blissful, which made her forget that she was even away from home.
miran then picked up the sides of her dress and politely curtsied to the prince. this was something done out of pure habit something her father had taught her. the male in front of her, was the next in line for the throne, the king that she would have served under if she hadnât ran away from her family. the lady-in-waiting pressed her lips together, before standing up straight. â itâs been a while, your highness. â miran spoke. her voice cracking from being under pressure. the crown prince, himself, was different in her eyes. he was much older and taller than she remembered, perhaps she was short to begin with. â have you been well? â she added, just to keep the conversation going.
hc + broken promises
lost in thought â accepting
â i donât enjoy talking about broken promises too much. however, there was one that happened many years ago. mingyu, my brother, promised that he would let me win a match between the two of us. in the end, he just wanted the spotlight for himself after he cheated. it was to prove to our father that i was the better one out of the two, but what was done is done. i hated for that. â

first greetings ||ăjhs+cmră
@ryheosoo
the ball has officially started, but miran was nowhere near the crowds gathering. of course, princess yeona wasnât gonna be to fond to find out that her lady-in-waiting went into hiding, but nonetheless, miran still had her manners and an image to keep up with before completely disappearing from the scene. the lady-in-waiting wasnât quite fond of events likes these. to her, they were too crowded and loud. there were people that she needed to avoid as well.
however miran ended up exploring the event hall. of course, there werenât that many people in the hallways, which miran was grateful for. she enjoyed being alone sometimes. her lavender dress swayed as she walked with the sound of her heels echoing through the hallway. as she strolled around, most of the doors were closed. miran wouldnât dare go in them until she spotted one door open. of course, it wasnât closed all the way, but she could definitely see the lights on from the inside.
miran walked up to the door and took a peek inside. she couldnât see much; although, she did feel a breeze on her nose. perhaps the window doors were opened? the brunette placed her hand on the door and gently pushed it open. she could see just outside the window doors that someone was standing there. perhaps the other was a guest at the even as well.
â will you not be joining the party? â miran asked, hoping she didnât startled the male.
hidden discovery ||ăyjh+cmră
@ryjihun
to be honest, miran still didnât understand why she was back seoul again. perhaps she finally gave into the feeling of paying respect to her decreased family members or the fact that she just missed the food. either way in the end, she was in seoul.
miran often worried about being spotted; however, a part of her often wondered if she was truly forgotten. itâs over ten years. she was sixteen at the time when she left. miran was twenty-seven now. would her family even remembered what she had looked like? the brunette continued her little journey down the street, eyeing places to have a meal in. or was it better to just get a smoothie and just go to the cemetery?Â
to be honest, she didnât know what to do. miran was stuck in between ideas. she didnât want to sit and contemplate on it. after a few more minutes of walking, the woman decided on getting a smoothie from a local coffee shop. however, the coffee shop that she had picked out was located in a place she dreaded the most; in a high-end luxury neighborhood.Â
the brunette didnât hate high-end neighborhoods, but these were the places that she used to shop when she was younger, which makes more the reason to avoid. miran stared at the cafe door for a moment, sighing, before opening the door. of course, she was greeted by the wait staff. after a few exchanges, the lady-in-waiting was seated.

ryxyeona:
although the princess knew her role very well, hyun yeona couldnât help but hate social gatherings. if she werenât the first born, she would have skipped the ball easily; but of course, life never turns out the way you want. at least this ball was for her sisters, that fact alone being enough to encourage the eldest hyun daughter that she needed to attend. the only thing that she wasnât looking forward to, however, was being under the watchful eyes of her parents throughout the night. god knows that the crown princess couldnât screw up in front of all their family, friends, and the public eye. after all, image is everything.
âi know, iâm sorry.â the princess sighed in frustration, knowing very well that she was cutting it close â not only for herself, but for miran as well. âiâm just stressing about tonight. you know how i get. everything has to be perfect.â
reaching out for the burgundy, almost plum-colored dress the lady-in-waiting had picked out, yeona studied the gown closely before holding it against her body and visualizing the look while she looked at herself in the mirror. there was a brief silence. the dress wasnât so bad at all. it was pretty, modest â suitable for a ball where her sisters and the daughters of the pyos were the main of event. âiâll wear this one.â yeona suddenly decided, going to try on the dress to see it howâd she look. âi doubt they would have anything negative to say about it.â
with a dress finally decided, miran placed the dress she had in her hand back into the rack. now it was her turn to find a dress; however she, too, didnât like much of the selection, except one. it was a capped sleeves light apricot chiffon dress. it was her personal favorite, but she needed the princessâs opinion on it first before she could finalize her dress.
â youâll do fine, itâs just like any other event youâve been too, â the brunette said, pulling out the dress that she liked. â what about this one? i personally like the capped laced sleeves and the color. itâs very natural. i donât want stand out too much because you and i both know the yang family will be there and i want to avoid them as much as possible. â  miran then placed the dress over her body, giving the dress a twirl.
miran then placed the dress to the princessâs bed and started, looking through the rack once more. the next one was a wisteria colored dress with a pleated bodice and decorate laced flowers scattered in the straight line. it was paired sheer shawl as well. â if you donât like the apricot one, then this would be the next dress i would pick. other than that, these selections arenât quite my favorite. â miran said, placing the purple dress next to the apricot one.Â
inner strength ||ăchg+cmră
â @ryxhyunggyu
with her eyes closed, miran slowly inhaled and exhaled. her fists were in front of her, holding the front stance of the art. itâs been a few weeks since miran was in the gym; lucky for her, it was very quiet with a few people here and there. the brunette had been practicing her kicks for a while, barely breaking a sweat. however miran was actually going at her own pace, going very slowly so that she wouldnât pull a muscle.
miran had also incorporated some hand techniques to produce several combos. she wanted to make sure each combo flowed nicely, but in the end, the brunette would have to start the technique from the very beginning again. after all, she was a perfectionist, so a part of her was glad that she was doing these techniques at her own slow pace. it makes it a lot easier on her to memorize the pattern.
once the pattern was embedded in her brain, miran decided to do the technique with a faster movement speed. she was also glad for her small size which meant speed wasnât an issue for her; however, it also meant she lacked in physical strength. it was one of her flaws when it came to combat. miran was just under five feet five and was exactly fifty kilograms in weight. pretty much, someone, who was taller and much more of a heavy weight then she was, miran would have lost the fight already.
