Pest control
So, I live in a very old tenement building which is prone to getting mice. I tried live traps and only caught one mouse which I released outside in a covered area in a park not too far away but far enough it wouldn't be able to track it's way back. Since I've been unsuccessful in capturing anymore I looked into finding humane pest control. I found one! I phoned the guy up and he quoted a fair £80 to travel to my city and do a full treatment and leave more traps for me to continually release which I'm more than happy to do. I then contacted my letting agent to ask if my landlord would consider paying for the humane company instead of getting them destroyed. They finally got back to me and said no and they'll be sending out their 'reliable' pest control contractor. Note: he hasn't seem to have done great jobs in the past as they told us it's common to get mice and to let them know when we get them. I emailed back as soon as I read the email to say I'm obviously uncomfortable having dead mice lying around my house especially as I can be out of the house for 13 hours at a time due to work and the commute and that I found it cruel. They replied instantly to say I'm more cruel to use humane traps because the mice won't know where they are. I'm sorry but are the mice going to be flagging taxis down not knowing where they are? They're inquisitive animals and bloody smart, as I've learned. They don't live very long so how is it more cruel to give them a chance to live compared to ending their lives indefinitely? They're of no pest to anything thing else, just humans. They have every bloody right to be alive and I'm not playing a part in slaughtering them. I'll happily just pay the money myself to get the humane guy out which although I'm more comfortable with I'm pretty gutted as I'll be using the money I've kept all month for my birthday night out on going out of my way to ensure less cruelty. I even proposed the landlord to pay half and they still refused. I'm vegetarian and only wear and use cruelty free and vegan products and I'll honestly find it pretty traumatic if I had to deal with many dead animals in my home. Anyone in the UK know if there's any legal tenancy options for someone who was veggie or vegan? If it applied to scotland that would be awesome! If someone had religious views on the 'pests' I'm sure it would be dealt with exactly how they wanted so why am I being dismissed? It's my views, my lifestyle and my home!
…what have I done?
Smoked tofu and hunnnnners a broccoli and green beans with a little bit of noodles. I am stuffed.
Good day off. My new Collectif skirt arrived and if I bend over wearing it im pretty sure my arse is going to burst through it. Also, got my new B lipstick on today. They're doing bogof on all B cosmetics in Superdrug right now.
