I'm european. We don't get our uranium from the US so i don't see what the navajo has to do with our reactors. And even if it took one child sacrifice for every kg of uranium, that would still be way safer and more efficient than fossil fuels and arguably better than other renewables (ok maybe not with the child sacrifice)

Yeah sorry but i like modern society. I like penicillin, the internet, CT scanners, GPS, Washing machines and dishwashers, smoke detectors and water heaters. That requres energy and infrastructure. Just because the industrial revolution and capitalism coincided, doesn't mean that one needs the other. We can have mines without bad working conditions, and infrastructure without exploitation; we can't have washing machines without electricity nor computers without rare earths.

I dislike pictures like this because
1. They are often incorrect in some way (laika was not first in space, just orbit. A few american fruit flies beat her by a decade)
2. It glosses over the achievements of the US program that was more advanced technology wise than the soviet.
But most importantly
3. It frames the space "race" antagonistically. The whole race idea was a way to pitch programs to the politicians, the space race should be seen as a victory for humanity as a whole, with contributions from both sides.
Yeah okay I think we need to go back to "watch movies before criticizing them" as a general rule

In both cases you're fighting against the government and their institutions. The fight will be more or less the same. And assuming that your vote changes anything, at least in the US, is bullshit. The candidate who wins will be the candidate supported by the bourgeoisie.
Genocide is an example to symbolise all the problems a government caused. And if we are talking about idealism, assuming all parties are the same because they are bourgeois is very reductive. There is a reason that all the trans genocide rethoric is coming from republicans and republican judges. And why Sweden with it's social democracy (which is still bourgeois) has much better living standards than the US.
And if the governments are "more or less the same", why not fucking vote? How will stuff get worse if you try to vote forward the better candidate? That's like finding a scratch ticket on the street and deciding not to scratch it because "the chance of winning big is so small anyways".
Ps. Also even if fighting 5 genocide is the same, you should still pick that one since there will be one less genocide worth of people dying while you fight. And if you loose, at least you will have one less genocide.

Just so we are clear. The US *is* a democracy. A flawed, bourgeois one sure, but a democracy nontheless. People's votes matter, and thinking otherwise is just burying your head in the sand. The fact that we can't just vote in socialism isn't because there is some magical force stopping a socialist from taking office. It's because in our bourgeois led society, the overton window is naturally limited by bourgeois thought.
But the bourgeoisie is not a monolith. They value their relation to labour sure. But on other issues they differ. Issues that matter very much in day to day life. Take minority rights as an example, it would be downright negligent to say liberal and conservative parties have the same view on these issues. Or take immigration, or drug use, or incarceration policy. The fact is that there are lots of political issues that are determined, more or less, by popular mandate. Does influential players try to challenge that mandate? Sure, but that is only another sign that they don't have monolithic control over it.
And finally, normies, the ones making up the majority of the population, the group that we need to convince if we need to grow to a size where whatever revolution you have planned is viable, thinks voting works. And you are only going to alienate them further by sitting in a corner and sulking. Instead you could activly participate in campaigning and meet more people. Bernie sanders movement was critical in radicalising millions of people, do you think his movement would have been as big if he didn't at least frame it as a presidential run?
And even, despite all thos points, if you still don't believe me. What's the harm in voting? Why not just take those 20 minutes every four years it takes to vote and just do it. In the worst case scenario you are right and nothing happens. But if even one of my points stand, you will have markedly improved the worlds conditions. All at the cost of checking one box. That seemes worth it to me.
