Description — Life is Strange: Rewriting Destiny
This is a visual novel I created where the player can start the story from either of the two final choices in Life is Strange: saving Arcadia Bay or saving Chloe.
Regardless of the starting point, Max Caulfield carries the scars of trauma and grief left by her decision. In one timeline, she lives with the weight of having sacrificed an entire town to keep Chloe alive—and with the consequences of that on Chloe and their relationship. On the other hand, Max needs to learn to exist in the world where Chloe died.
Consumed by pain, guilt, and emotional dependence, Max's powers begin to become unstable, and she fears that something very serious might happen because of it. Max unintentionally uses her powers one last time and ends up trapped in another reality.
She ends up being taken to the past, to a timeline where Chloe Price and Rachel Amber are alive and together. Max then decides to venture into this new reality, not to erase what happened, as she understands that the past cannot be completely undone, but to try to heal what the loss destroyed within Max, Chloe, and Rachel.
In addition to being able to go back a few seconds in time, Max awakens a unique ability—the capacity to reveal to people the past, the present, possible futures, and alternative realities, allowing them to see and feel everything as if they needed to have lived it.
Through these visions, Max, Chloe, and Rachel finally confront everything that was imposed on them: choices they could never make, futures that were denied, interrupted loves. But this also forces them to face something even more frightening—the consequences of their actions in multiple realities and who they are when they are not defined by pain, abandonment, and emotional dependence.
The narrative unfolds in alternating perspectives between the three protagonists, following a profound process of personal protection. Before they can love in a healthy way, they need to learn their identity as whole individuals—with limits and emotional autonomy.
While trying to rebuild their lives, they must also confront the consequences of Max's terrifying power and the crimes of Jefferson and the Prescott family, fighting for justice for all the girls who were imprisoned in the Dark Room.
Throughout the journey, characters like Steph, Kate, Victoria, and other iconic faces from the franchise return, while fragments of the future reveal unexpected connections—including Alex Chen, Sean, and Daniel. The player can explore multiple romantic routes—Pricefield, AmberPrice, and AmberPricefield, but the main one will be AmberPricefield—in a choice system that shapes not only the relationships but who these girls become.
The game also reveals dark alternate realities, constantly reminding players of the weight of each decision and what could have been lost—so that any happy ending must be earned and reflected upon considering the sad realities.
Life is Strange: Rewriting Destiny will be an interactive visual novel about healing, identity, learning to love in a healthy way, loving the simple and silly things in life, second chances, and forgiveness. Fighting Jefferson will not be the main focus. The real challenge is preventing them from getting lost inside them. 🦋🦌📸🌈. The player can play as Max, Chloe, and Rachel primarily, but there will be parts of the game where you can play as other characters.
Come be a part of this visual novel too and get in touch with me. I need help to improve its writing and translate it into English. It will soon be released visually as an iOS, Mac, APK, and Windows version. Furthermore, with my art, any fanfiction about Life is Strange that you've written can be transformed into a visual novel game.
