He looked over at her with caution before giving her a timid nod. “It sounds a lot more creepy than it really is.” he stated. “Like I said it was a dare and I returned it before anyone noticed. SO no police or anything but my program advisor found out and I did get a very stern lecture.”

He eyed her carefully as she explained her symptoms. Nodding as she continued along. Seth was a worrier. When his it came to his friends and loved ones the anxiety increased ten fold. He swallowed hard before managing a smile. “I’m not a doctor... yet, but it sounds like you could have a flu or just a really shit cold.” he gave her a reassuring smile. “Have you taken any pain killers? I have Tylenol-Codeine from when I got my tonsils out.”

“It’s less about you dying and more about what happens if you do.” he said jokingly. “Steal one cadaver on a dare and suddenly you’re on the ‘most likely to be a serial killer’ list.” he punctuated his statement with an exagerated eyeroll. Before giving her a small frown as she continued on. “Me? Not really. I mean schools on break but I am still doing work on my thesis... but how are you? Everything cool?”

Seth flicked at his screen blankly before sighing and looking across the table. “Tinder sucks. Being a guy and living here. Why do I even do it?” he complained setting down his phone in front of him. “I mean I just swipe until I hit the limit at this point. Considering its the same, like, 10 girls I should just delete the app.”

“Ah, I’m just shitting with you.” She laughed after connecting the tubes from her trusty pet, tank. “If I didn’t know how to put this back on, I’d be dead already.”

“Okay. Not. Cool.” he said holding his hand over his chest. Which contained his currently panicking heart. He shook his head before looking over at her pointedly. “You keep doing things like that and I wont believe you when something actually does happen.”

“Uh, hi.” he said awkwardly before gently holding the small box up. “I found a finch... I think?” he stated looking at it with furrowed brows before returning his gaze back to her. “It flew into my window... I think the little guys going to be alright but I wanted to make sure.”

“Of course man. Not everyone can pull off the gruff bartender look.” he said with a smirk. “I mean look at me. If I try to have a bit of stubble my face looks like a freckly peach.”

“Wait... they make strawberry cheescake yogurt?” he said his mouth slightly agape. “Okay maybe I lied I do want a bite. I have to try this.”

“Well, I don’t work here yet, I’m just a trainee. I’m a consultant.” She joked, feeling a slight headache split through her words. “But, I guess we can get going.” Nora nodded, looking at the pizza. 

“A consultant of what?” he asked curiously before shoving his hands in his pockets. “Wait... get going where? What?”

Caleb’s eyes widened at the sight of the little vial, gnawing on his lip apprehensively. “I, uh–” He began. “Yeah, alright.” He finally shrugged, opening his arms and taking a step towards the redhead. “Swab me.” He chuckled, opening his mouth obediently and making strange, guttural noises.

He gave a small smirk to the other as his face showed apprehension “Trust me its over in a flash. It’s really isn’t that bad.” he assured as he pulled out some latext gloves and put them on slowly before taking the packaging off the swab kit and peeling it off. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the strane noises the other was making. “I guess I don’t have to tell you to say awe.” he chuckled before swabbing around the inside of his mouth. He then placed the swab into the vial with its solution and shakes it a little. “There, I’m done. See it’s not so bad.”

“A simple boy from the mid-west with hair like fire and a kind of awkward charm. You have your own cards to play.” Fletch grins. “If you don’t wanna know, then I won’t tell.” Fletch takes the baggie back once Seth has finished inspecting it, opening it and putting a bud into his grinder. “What else is new though? Feels like forever man. How’s your course?” Fletcher asks conversationally as he chops up the weed.

“Oh now that is a descriptor for you. ‘Hair like fire.’ Unfortunately that also can lead to the not so great term, ‘fire crotch.’“ he let out a laugh before leaning back and watching Fletch get to work. “You know. It’s school. Long, tough and sometimes boring. It’s so worth it though.” he tilts his head “How about you? How’s art going?”

“Ahhh Seth you just don’t understand the goodness that you’re missing. But fine fine, no I get it you aren’t invited anymore to join in the fantastical relationship with my pizza and I. And you should be psychic, that would be sick. Anyway you’re here now man, we gonna do this or what?”

“I know what I am missing and the fact that it’s good is entirely objective.” he said with an eyeroll. “I wish I were psychic, could you imagine the things that I could do with an ability like that? For example what are we doing?”

“Oh, yeah, sure.” He nodded, his  words laced with sarcasm. Truthfully, he wasn’t to knowledgeable in all that sciency stuff. He’s certainly more well-versed in history than histology. “I probably have a ton of those. I was just sick last week.” He smiled goofily, trying to contribute something relevant. “Where, um…where do I spit, Doc?”

Seth began to dig around in his bag for the needed tools. Hands feeling around the jumbled mess pulling out a swab and a few, slightly, crumpled papers. “You actually don’t need to spit anywhere. You just need to say ‘Ahh’ while I swab around your mouth with this.” he said holding up the swap and its cylinder giving it a little shake. “I hope you don’t have a gag reflex.”

“Ahhhh come on man you’re killin’ me here. Really, it hurts me on a very deep and emotional level. You just don’t understand the kind of relationship pizza and I have.” Tanner replied slowly before snickering. “You know, I feel like pocket pizza really should be a thing, that way everyone could have their delicious fill of the fine la pizza.”

“You can keep your relationship with pizza, I stand by my statement of ‘shits nasty’.” he grumbled, looking over towards Tanner. “Next time you want me to bring some ‘za text me before hand. I ain’t psychic man.”

“Well lucky for me I am studying to mainly sit in a lab all day. Why offer if you hate it so much?”
