Our first stop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital, was the Minor Mosque, picturesquely situated alongside the Ankhor Canal, where we saw locals having a dip and swimming around on the hot June afternoon.

Being completed in 2014, Minor Mosque is a comparatively new sight in Uzbekistan, but it still encapsulates the beautiful architectural styles of the country with its white marble finishing and intricate turquoise tile designs. The cerulean dome (qubba) and the tops of the minarets blend beautifully into the azure summer sky.
