I love you, Sayang.
Things he keeps saying but I won’t ever get tired of hearing.
This anxiety feels like silent staccato.
Jarak sedang tak berpihak pada kita. Yang kita punya hanya waktu. Rindu hanya perlu menunggu.
Please don’t give up on us.
These things I missed: long walks by the river, dinner dates, Monday movie nights, quiet moments reading side by side, sauna afternoons, slowgrind dancing in a smoky pub, snacking and napping. Just being with you.
These things I missed because I can’t be around you for now. These things I missed break my heart.
I am so excited to see him, yet so afraid. Our love blooms, yet I am afraid for a heartbreak. What if he gets discouraged? What if the going gets too tough for him? What if he needs to wait for a lot longer?
I am afraid that he’ll give up, because the truth of the matter is, I have more faith about us than he does.
It's only since you went away that I fully realise how happy I am around you.
He said.
However much you love me, I’ll double it.
He said.
Distance gives us a reason to love harder.
This love of ours will outgrow the distance.
One day, this distance will be no more. No more poor connections on Skype. No more missing each other’s messages. No more waking up to your noon. No more watching a sunset, wishing I was with you. No more nights without sleeping in your arms. No more coming home to an empty place. For a home to me is now wherever you are.
One day, you won’t be there anymore. I won’t be here either. We’ll be together instead.
Adapted from Courtney Peppernell.
Love demands our vulnerability.
Regrets, especially those about love are a horrible thing.
Love is a choice. A conscious commitment. It is something that you choose to make work every day with a person who has chosen the same thing.
I miss Brunswick. I miss the food. I miss my friends. But all that is just a grain of sand on the beach of how much I miss you.
- He said.
Tomorrow, I might be going back to where I came from. But darling, you are my home. I want to see twenty thousands more of sunsets with you
Home is a person
When home is a person, you feel secure and safe, no matter where in the world you are. You could be thousands of miles from the place you grew up, or right next door. Home is the feeling you get when they wrap you up in their arms and you know that you are taken care of. When home is a person, you feel homesick when you are apart. You look forward to reuniting again and when you do, a warm feeling of pure bliss surrounds you—it feels right. Like you are back where you belong at last. When home is a person, you always carry their love with you. It never dulls, weakens, or dies. You possess an endless supply of affection and trust that transcends distance and physical boundaries. When home is a person, you never feel alone or out of place. As long as you have them, you are where you’re meant to be. Nothing seems too intimidating when you have their support to back you up through all of life’s inevitable twists and turns. When home is a person, it doesn’t matter where you come from or what you’ve been through. Home is where you are loved wholly and unconditionally, without barriers, restrictions, judgments, or expectations. Home is where you are most comfortable being your absolute self—where you are treasured and celebrated for the unique flaws and quirks that make you authentically you.
When you find the right person, settle in. You’re home.
