Donovan was ready to drop it, but hearing the softer and more serious tone in Sabrina’s voice made her look at the girl and slump her shoulders. Really? With a sigh, she flopped onto her stomach. “…what do you want to know, Sabrina?”
The conversations the two girls had were usually always fun and full of banter, and that was exactly what Sabrina loved about their friendship. She easily considered Donovan to be one of her closest friends in the burnouts, but occasionally she’d find herself asking how close they could really be, considering they weren’t usually ones for discussing and knowing more personal thoughts. Sabrina knew she probably shouldn’t take it personally, and it’s why she didn’t usually push too hard and kept things jokey, but sometimes she couldn’t help but wonder whether Donovan didn’t share things with her because that’s who she was, or because she didn’t want to share them with Sabrina specifically. “I don’t know, I was just trying to kill time. You know, girl talk, the stupid stuff teens are meant to talk about. It doesn’t really matter. I’ll have to wait til your autobiography comes out or something.”
