“I can’t believe you heard him over this wack ass DJ.” Mason looked at the DJ, he was trying, and people were having fun, but damn the same song twice in the evening? Rough. “I told a girl the punch was spiked with pee and cum.”

“100% I knew, who else does Levi have to tell?” Mason asked, he raised his cup of punch, “He’s got you, and he’s got me.” Mason paused, “Occasionally Irena.”
Mason knew, he had known, it was in his brain of knowledge. “A congratulations are in order, a shiny ring on your hand and a cup of juice in mine because this is prom and we can’t have champaign.” He offered her a cup of punch.

freddie blinked a few times as she tried to figure out what he’d just said. “clay doesn’t just dry, it has to be basically cooked in a kiln –– you can’t uncook pasta or meat so its kind of like that.”
Mason nodded, “They did pottery to build the great wall of China?” He asked, having no idea what the fuck a kiln was, it just sounded familiar because of the crafting tv show that came on late at night.

“well bricks are made from clay, so basically you just wet clay and then mould it into the shape that you need and then when it hardens it becomes a brick.” she said as she dangled her feet in the water.
“Okay, okay, but hear me out right. If you can make dry clay into wet clay then why doesn’t the wet clay that turns into dried again dry clay turn back into wet clay?” Mason’s head hurt trying to understand what he had just said.

Mason laid back in the poolside chair, “Do they just made bricks? How do you make bricks? I want to do that.” He nodded just having a mind fuck- the great wall of china had like a ton of bricks.

“i guess it all depends on where the meteor lands, if it were to hit here, in the united states then china would probably be safe but if it were to hit somewhere like russia or india then it would probably bring down the wall in china.” freddie said. god she could ramble about this kind of stuff all day. “well its a historical landmark now, i’m pretty sure that if someone were to try and take it down they’d be arrested, china still has the death penalty so they might even be killed.”
“That’s wild.” Mason did not retain any of the information she had just said, but it made sense as she was saying it. “I could build the great wall of China, the ingredients are easy enough.”

“parts of it did begin to fall down but over the years they’ve reconstructed it.” she said to him. “right now the only thing i could imagine bringing it down is a meteor.”
“I mean, a meteor did take out the dinosaurs.” He nodded, his brain started going again. “What if the meteor didn’t hit China? Would it still bring down the wall? Also, does China even need the wall anymore or did they just not know what to do with the bricks?”

“they were creative back then, they didn’t have a lot to work with so they had to deal with what they did have.” the blonde said to him. “brick, stone, sand and soil were basically all that the wall was built with, also some wood to help keep it steady while everything set.”
“How is it still up now though? Like... Stone, brick, and dirt? How did China not run out of stone, brick and dirt?” He was blown right now, honestly how the fuck did the great wall get up.

freddie sighed and rubbed her temples as she listened to him. “seriously?” she asked before turning to look at him. “the workers used stone for the wall and soil to connect it all.”
“You’re telling me they used dirt?” Mason did not believe that shit for a second. “Babe, dirt is dry and it’s not holdin anything up, does China have some super glue type dirt?”
“So like the Great Wall of China right? How did they build it, because they didn’t have Home Depot back then, they couldn’t fuckin’ go out and buy bricks.” Mason asked, the sun was out and he was just trying to soak in the sun, also his room wasn’t clean and he didn’t want to clean it.
