A PUNY LOAF OF BREAD OMG
HERB WITCH APOTHECARY
I’ve been spending the last week assembling my very first herb witch starter kit!
My friend gave me this fantastic cubbyhole box and as soon as I saw it I knew what I’d be using it for.
This is my first attempt, so I don’t have everything I had my eye on yet, but it’s as complete as it’s going to be for the time being.
I have 54 herbs and resins in my kit, some that I purchased and others that I pilfered from my parents spice cabinet, or my own.
- Blessed Thistle - St. John’s Wort -Vervain
- Mugwort - White Horehound - Juniper Berries
- Lady’s Mantle - Motherwort - Damiana
- Red Clover - Calendula Petals - Gardenia Fruits
- Agrimony - Mullien Leaves - Licorice Root
- Honeysuckle - Nettle Leaf - Dandelion Leaf
- Ground Ivy - Buckwheat Herb - Jamaican Dogwood
- Lavender - Chamomile - Hibiscus
- Neem Powder - Rose Petals - Pink Himalayan Salt
- Jasmine Flowers - Linseed - Fennel
- Black Salt - Paprika - Chilli Flakes
- Safflower - Cardamon - Tumeric
-Cinnamon Sticks - Thyme - Oregano
- Rosemary - Parsley - Basil
- Mulukhiya - Chives - Nutmeg
- Ground Cumin - Ground Ginger - Cayenne Pepper
-Ground Chia - Dammar Resin - Amber Resin
- Vatican Mix - 4-Star Resin - Frankincense
You can probably tell which ones came from my kitchen and which ones I bought. I’m having a lot of fun reading up on elixirs, spells and teas you can make with these herbs as well as planning out my herb grimoire. If anyone has any tips for a baby herb witch send them my way please, I have so much to learn!

Yes, give me all the tiny things.
Last weekend it was decided that young Pillomin will be traveling back to Peewick to meet with the village herbalist. Since then I’ve been slowly building this bit of Sheena-Pea’s apothecary! Still needs more herbs, but I’m getting there. I wanted to make a piece of set that would give you (and me) a break from the soggy woods behind my home. It’s beautiful back there, but it keeps raining when I’m trying to shoot. Plus my downstairs neighbors are probably wondering just what the heck I’m up to out there, in the rain, with a bunch of stuffed animals. I had to hang Pillomin’s breeches up to dry when I got in last week.
Sheena-Pea is based on my real-life friend Sheena who runs the shop Branch and Beak and who makes a variety of witchy goods for your body! My favorite item that she makes is an essence of amethyst and lavender anointing oil that comes in roll-on tube so you can apply it to your temples (and everywhere) when you want to be calm. I use it all the time because honestly, I need it. Ha! Sheena is also one of the funniest ladies I know, just a real good egg. I have doubts that I’ll be able to write her character with the wit that she has, but I’ll sure try.
Give her shop a look, and thanks for staying tuned!
I’m shooting to get Chapter 2 shot, written and edited by Friday so I can release some brand-new beasts into the shop this weekend. I’m really holding myself back from posting them now because Pillomin hasn’t met them yet. It’s difficult!

H O S H I K O & B R I N E W ‘ S A R R I V A L ! ! !
Two new friends turned up today; a rather pernicious looking mushling, and a grimalkin acolyte whom is rather reminiscent of a dear old friend.
Brinew was quite pleased to join the mandrakes and fit right in with their ranks. Hilia has even offered to share some of her bottles for Brinew’s poison-making hobby!
Hoshiko on the other hand is content to sit and snuggle while I read or study. She hasn’t strayed far from my side since arriving, and doesn’t seem inclined to do so anytime in the near future.
Many thanks to @offalteeth for our newest members!!!~
Cute nature stamps I found when I was looking through my old stamp collection!

A E M A ‘ S H O M E C O M I N G ! ! !
This sweet little beast was waiting patiently for me to return back to campus from a break back home. She tells me that she was very well behaved in the mail room, helping to sort parcels and letters. As such, she has taken an avid interest in philately. I’ve given her a stamp that I saved off of one of my birthday cards (it had cute heirloom tomatoes on it!!) and informed her that I have many other stamps back home for her. She is very pleased and cannot wait to collect more stamps! You may message us for her postal address if you would like to contribute to her collection.
P.S. can I also say what a fan I am of the new handwriting for the a’s. Very cute!
Tiny Pottery Handcrafted by Miniature Sculpture Artist Jon Almeda
Jon Almeda is an expert miniature pottery artist based in Washington who breaths life into the smallest of art. He creates hand thrown vases and pots which are a fraction of the size of their larger vessels, replicated to the finest details. The sculptor has mastered his technique with a custom-built motorized curio wheel that allows him to maneuver his minute hand movements to mold the perfect little vase.
Most of Almeda’s creations feature bowls, teapots and kettles that are as small as a thumbnail. He handles each work with accuracy and his unwavering focus results in extremely fragile pieces that can withstand the temper of fire and glazing. The flawless products are a result of the artist’s steady hand which has become dedicated to turning the process of pottery making into a stimulating art experience. You can find his work in his Etsy shop.
