About this blog

Hi! This is SacredShadow, a roleplay blog for the RuneScape characters Azzanadra and Sliske. I do not own these characters, they belong to Jagex, which I have no association with apart from absolutely loving RuneScape. This is a sideblog for fanfics, HCs, stuff like that. My main is @stellarana, check out that but be ready for weird stuff.

On this blog I will try to post at least once a week, but sometimes things take longer to write than expected. Posts will be things like fanfics and stuff, the kind of things you would usually find on a roleplay blog. Anything nsfw will be tagged as such and will have one of those ‘keep reading’ things.

Please submit asks and I will get back to as many of them as possible. Asks will be answered for both Azzanadra and Sliske unless you specify who you are asking.

Roleplay memes and things like that: I will probably some of those, make sure you include what meme it is (all of them will stay open, you can ask for them any amount of time after I post them, but some of the ones with alphabets or emojis will be confusing for me if I don’t know which one you are referring to. So pls tell me what meme it is at the start of the ask for all of them) and who you’re asking (if you don’t put who you’re asking I will either do from both or choose which one). For the kind with the format “my muse does something to your muse” then I will do that interaction happening between Azzanadra and Sliske, unless you are another roleplay blog (or you list another character to include like Wahisietel or someone). You DON’T need to be a roleplay blog for any of the memes.

woohoo I managed to actually finish a fic

So last night I came up with a great idea for a fic and started writing it in a notebook (I know, I know, I’m also worried about being able to read my own handwriting). Got to the point in the story where I realised I couldn’t remember one detail about one of my headcanons. So just then I went looking for a place I had written it down, found a brief summary somewhere but it wasn’t quite enough. And then I remembered that I also shared it in the nsfw chat on my Mahjarrat discord server. Easy, I’ll go find it there, I thought. But I hadn’t realised that since Australia now has a bunch of new strict restrictions about social media age limits, I cannot get in without proving my age. Even though I am the admin of the server. I wasn’t particularly keen on sending discord a picture of my face or my id so I figured, hey, it’s my server, I can change the rules!

Except it turned out that I couldn’t. You can’t edit the age restrictions while on mobile. So now I’ve gotta wait until I can get on my computer and change it. Until then, I am locked out of one of my own discord server channels.

Don’t really know why I’m sharing this. Guess I just found it kinda funny and I haven’t posted here for a while. I’ve been doing more writing recently and have been thinking about getting the Mahjachat server back up and running, so keep an eye out for that.

I spend a surprising amount of time thinking about what texts Azzy and Sliske would send to each other if they had phones. Here’s one of them:

Sliske: Hey there’s a new law about how hot ppl can be and I hate to tell you this, but you’re waaaay over the limit

Azzy: Haha thanks.

Sliske: No I’m serious. Open your office door I’ll be over there soon to chain you up. If you cooperate then I’ll keep the police brutality to a minimum.

I’ve just noticed that I got kudos on the fic that got me banned from the RAC and it’s brought up a lot of feelings and I’m not sure what to do with them other than post them here.

Part of me regrets ever writing it and wonders how much better my life would have been if I had just left the idea as a late night thought and never gotten around to writing it down. Maybe I wouldn’t have had the troubling stress related medical symptoms that sent me to the hospital in the months after the ban. Maybe I wouldn’t have gotten into that long depression that’s the reason you haven’t heard from me for ages. Maybe I would have remained happily writing and posting other content that didn’t trigger one person in a way that I couldn’t have expected. It’s been a long time and I should have just moved past it but every so often the raw memory of it comes rushing back. Probably because nobody but me knows exactly what happened and I haven’t been able to process it properly.

But on the other hand, I’m thinking about why this has even come up now. Not just the fact that I’m finally feeling up to checking my emails, but the reason why I got this one: Somebody liked that fic. And other people have too. Other people have loved it. And even if the one hater was the most vocal of the readers and the one who caused the fic to impact my life in this way, there was still love for it and I should forget that my initial feeling about the piece was pride.

I can’t undo the mistakes I made back then, but I can learn from them, even if the only lesson I get is that some people will hate things and I can’t do anything about it (but unfortunately they could do something about it). And everything I write helps me write better, and even if one thing is bad, it won’t mean the next one will also be.

So I guess what I’m saying is that I’m going to try to get back to posting here more often.

I won’t post the link to the fic here, but if you look I’m sure you’ll find it.

And to the people who were involved with this incident I described: Remember that we were both meant to block each other and you shouldn’t even be reading this. I’m allowed to share my feelings and my side of the story and it’s not my fault if you get offended by them.

i absolutely cannot imagine azzanadra having a child back on freneskae with anyone other than sliske, and given that khazard seems to have inherited his shadow realm powers from his mother... i can't come to any conclusions other than 'trindine is sliske's daughter' and believe me i'm trying to come up with other conclusions!

ive been enjoying being edged by the vague notion they might ruin xau tak too in the recent questline but like. sniping azzanadra from my clutches in the midst of his dark night of the soul was insane tbh. they really just sent that guy out into space to be alone with his catholic guilt and never mentioned him again.

im using leagues as an excuse to replay quests and i. forgot how much wahi tells azzanadra off for trusting sliske. those two have the same conversation every quest and its "i have faith in sliske." "are you stupid????"

"Zaros sits around daydreaming and Azzy does all the important stuff"

So I've been thinking a bit about Azzy's role in the Empire. Obviously he's not just the pope, but officially the second in charge and technically the first in charge. If Zaros were to disappear and nothing else to change, he would still be doing the same amount (but instead what happened was Zaros disappeared along with a fair few high ranking traitors who Azzy then had to do the work of as well as managing a war).

But even despite being able to manage all this one his own, there's still a vital reliance on Zaros as a source of confidence more than a source of advice. He would meet up with Zaros regularly, claiming that it's to ask for advice on important decisions but we all know that one of the main reasons for those meetings would be to just be around his beloved Empty Lord.

One of those meetings might go something like this:

Azzy: So I was thinking I'd get your advice on this law that's been proposed to deal with the problem of Chthonian demons and the city's homeless population. *hands Zaros big important pile of documents* Should I pass it?

Zaros: Um. *flips coin* No.

Azzy: But this law could save hundreds of lives!

Zaros: Ok make it a law then

Azzy: But there's already a great deal of unrest among the Chthonians, a law restricting them like this could push them into rebellion!

Zaros: Then don't make it a law?

Azzy: What I'd been thinking was that we should wait until the unrest has died down a little and release it as a new law at the same time as something the Chthonians would approve of

Zaros: Yeah sure do as you wish

Azzy: Thanks so much for your advice. Oh, and are we still on for Friday night?

Zaros: Of course

Azzy: Should I meet you here or at your living quarters?

Zaros: At my living quarters would be preferrable

Azzy: Great I'll see you there as soon as I finish work.

Ok so apparently Azzy didn't want me to include that last bit but never mind.

As you know, he's perfectly capable of doing this all by himself, but he feels like he needs Zaros' assurance. He's never going to phrase it that way of course, and any suggestion that Zaros isn't actually important will be met with a classic disappointed frown. There's also his desperate desire to serve and please his lord, and also the desire to just be around him that emphasises this idea of dependence, and of course he wants to make Zaros seem like the big important one. Even when he's fully leading the empire in the god wars, he's still enforcing the idea that Zaros is guiding his actions and that everyone should be worshiping Zaros despite there being little traces that he still existed at some points. It's his duty to serve the Empty Lord and he's sometimes too good at doing that, to the point where he's doing far more than he should and actually running the empire while still considering himself to be the second in command. Zaros has basically given him the power to do whatever he wants, knowing that Azzy is one of the few people who won't abuse it mainly because all he wants is to do what Zaros wants and what's best for his people.

He'd totally be able to run his own empire (and be great at it) if he ever wanted to and had someone to reassure him that he could.

Ok so I just tried this for my bois and got the same result (seriously. I was thinking of analysing my result and commenting on this but now it's suddenly easier)

Sliske and Dei can both struggle together and then maybe try seeing what it's like with each other which Sliske will secretly like but then go and see if he can throw things through Azzy.

Azzy knows Sliske has something to do with why this has happened
