Hi Belle, I'm a big fan of your work and after admiring your costumes all this time, I just want to ask-- what's the most uncomfortable costume you've ever worn with regards to the fabric and the materials its made of?
Hmmm. I’m pretty sure Diva Plavalaguna will take this title when I finish it this year, but so far it’s been this one:
Drowned Ophelia from Brutal Legend. I love that game so much. This costume, though. The combination of Hotlanta, bodypaint, a hobble skirt, and all those wire-filled tendrils that poked at my legs constantly made for very annoying conditions. Every time I wanted to walk somewhere, I’d have to bend over and scoop up all those tendrils. Not to mention all the people who walked on them, or into them and nearly ripped the dress.
Otherwise, no costume’s materials have been terribly irritating. Though I do wish I hadn’t lined Ivy Valentine’s tailcoat in poly, especially when in Atlanta. That’s what I get for using fabric on-hand.
