The London Con mess
OK, so weāve all seen the meltdown on twitter about Stephen Amell cancelling HVFF then signing on to do MCM Comic Con in London the same weekend.Ā
Normally, living in New Zealand this wouldnāt affect me, but this time it does. Iām originally from the UK and we try and go back every 2 years to see family. Last May I saw all the great stuff coming out of HVFF London and thought...Iām going to plan my UK trip around those dates. So I booked tickets, flights etc.
Then Portland HVFF happened - and people I know didnāt get refunds. I knew HVFF was in trouble so decided to look around and see what else we could do in London that weekend, and found MCM Comic Con. I managed to snag some cheap weekend priority tickets before the price went up.Ā
I even managed to snag a photo op with Sebastian Stan before they all sold out.
Now Steve is going to MCM Comic Con, and I think David will be as well - from this comment on twitter from Monday.
So I may get my Diggle hug after all (50% of the reason I wanted to go, the other 50% was Emily).
Iām down nearly $400, and thatās not a lot compared with some people. Iām glad I held off on buying photos,Ā I donāt think people who did are ever seeing their money again.

Blog Update
Hi friends! I just wanted to give everyone a little update. I was in the hospital the past few days. Donāt worry Iām fine. I was behind on Blindspot before, but now Iām really behind so I apologize for that.
My blog expansion is still a go much to the thanks of all your kind support. I am drinking a lot of tea in the land of the polar vortex and I thank you for keeping me toasty warm with your generosity.
However, Iām going to be changing up what the āexpansionā includes. Iām going to scale back on other shows and instead write more Arrow related content such as more metas and Season 1 and Season 2 reviews. I had fun writing reviews for This Is Us and Outlander, but I want to turn my attention to other projects. Iāll finish up Outlander because I did watch the finale and I have thoughts, but Iāll be putting This Is Us Reviews aside. Sorry to those who enjoyed them, but hopefully youāll like what Iāll be replacing with them even more. :)
Iām also stopping my Weekly Rundown. I will occasionally update with things Iāve been watching (probably a different column title), but I realized as I was writing these that I donāt watch television on any kind of a schedule other than Arrow. Itās something my husband and I do together, so thatās pretty much impossible to change because of our life. So, youāll be hearing from me occasionally on other shows/movies but just not as frequently.
I will probably be able to finish my Legends of Tomorrow reactions because those are so much easier to do than reviews. Iāll aim to be caught up on those by the time LOT returns in April.
Last, but not least, I am working on an extremely special project. Iām keeping it under wraps for right now because itās very much in its infancy, but I am putting a lot of time and effort into it and hope to have it to you in a few months. STAY TUNED.

Oliver Queen dried his hands and face and looked into the mirror. Heād retreated to his mother'sā office bathroom to hide for a moment, but he couldnāt keep hiding for long. It was time to go and act like the heir to a billion dollar fortune - and be charming and vapid. He knew he had to continue to hide his damaged self from those who loved him.
It had been 6 months since heād returned from his 5 years in hell. He come back to try to save his home from the corruption that had infected Starling City. But it felt like a losing battle sometimes. For everyone that he and his partner John Diggle stopped, another 2 seemed to rise and take their place.Ā
As it was Christmas Eve, John had been given the night off to spend time with his family. Oliverās security for the evening was Johnās boss, Ted Gaynor, a man who Oliver couldnāt seem to trust, but John had vouched for him as they were old army buddies. Oliver played along, it was only an office party and he had to keep up appearances as the helpless billionaire.
Queen Consolidated Christmas party, this was not how Oliver wanted to spend his evening, playing the role of the bossās son to try and make his mother happy. In his past life heād have seen it as an opportunity to pick up a few phone numbers and maybe an intern or two.

The only one who can understand her when she does this is Oliver, but of course heās had a ton of practice. āWhatāsāDo I smell coffee?ā She asks finally looking up and yanking the pen from her red colored lips.
Oliver smiles. After all these years heās finally figured out how to get Felicityās attention when sheās coding.

Now that weāre fully in the dreaded winter hiatus, we have a little more freedom to talk about more than just whatās going on each week on Arrow. In this episode, we talk about the origins of Olicity, namely season 1 and 2, but with some chatter of later moments. Join us!
Where did Olicity start? Was it in season two, as some would have you believe (not even going to entertain the wholeĀ āout of nowhere in season 3ā² nonsenseā¦ watch the damn show, folks)? Or were there some significant signs in season 1 as well? Join us as we talk about this and our own impressions as we watched those seasons for the first time.Ā
So much fun with the podcast, Iām loving your insights. Plus I have a few questions/discussion points that might peak your interest. 1. Lost plotlines I sometimes lament over what might have been. I found an old interview with Grant a few months ago (have no idea where it is now) but he was talking about his contract. Initially Grant would have spent a year on Arrow, learning from Oliver before being spun off. The season 3 romance for Felicity was suppose to be with Barry - thatās why they did the chemistry test with her. I think this would have been a much better romance for Felicity - Ray was just too problematic at the start with the stalking, that put me off him. I do like him now in Legends, especially with Nora. I just think it could have been a better story, and also put Oliver and Barryās relationship on a much more solid footing. 2. Crisis on infinite earthsĀ I had a thought about this while listening to your podcast. If all the earths are merging does that mean we get back those who weāve lost, you know, like:
- Moria
- Robert
and....
TOMMY
Maybe even baby Sara.
It would make an amazing end of season 8 (which like you I think will be the last, at least with OTA).
